$780.5 million is what their lump sum is supposed to be.

When someone gets (or can get) all that they want, all the time, they are in for a rude awakening of a sort. Excess becomes the norm and while it first satisfies, it quickly becomes like a drug where you cannot help yourself and it takes over eventually changing your whole demeanor. The smartest thing anyone can do with any excess is to moderate it or it will own you. 

 I wish them the best.  There is something called, "The Curse of the Lottery".  I hope they don't come under it.

They might move to Florida?  Lol.

The winners are undergoing a live changing event! My hope is that they use the money wisely. We can all only wonder what we would do in the same circumstances.

They did finally show us who they were but I can't remember if they released the names. 2 friends - hope it stays that way.

What do they actually walk away with Joan do you know? Here in Canada lottery winnings are not taxed you would walk away with the full amount.

Hello Joan Cox most likely they will buy homes in different areas too.

I would take the annual distribution and leave it to my two daughters.  I figure that over the years they will become more wise with money and have funds to last and pass on to my grandchildren.

Good for them. Their lives have been forever changed. I hope they live happy lives

Hopefully they will call me for a very high end retirement home up north.

We can all be ready for multiple purchases.  It appears Step 1 was to research before collecting.  They may be in good hands. We may see a new charity created as a result of this income.  We never know😎

With proper planning they will both have approximately 250 million in their pocket after taxes. Some big pockets!

And then be ready to help them out in a year when they're bankrupt and facing foreclosure.  The overwhelming amount of lottery winners end up bankrupt after that first year.  They spend and never think about the taxes they'll have to pay.

The Federal tax plus the State tax will take its toll leaving about $234 million to play around with. Not too bad of a return for a $2 piece of paper. There's surely value added when the anonymity is factored into it. 

Maybe they'll want to have a home on Maui too... happy to pay a referral fee if anyone sends them my way!
