No... we're lucky if we earn $200 on doing a rental. Not worth the investment of time or money or gas.

No. I have never done rental business.

For me, more concentration on finding leads for sales and purchases is the ticket.

It depends on what you mean by "handle" being a property management company is a whole nother animal and in my view it is in it's self a full time job. I guess my answer would be NO.

Residential, no, way labor intensive and never pencils out.
Commercial (industrial, no office ever, only big retail) as long as I am not expected to manage.
The market correcting will send weak/lazy agents away, this is prime time to spit-shine our brand and take advantage of it!

I typically choose not to handle rentals. The prevalence of third-party sites like Apartments.com, Zillow, etc. make it so easy for people to list rentals themselves or for people to find the right rental for them that it simply would not be worth my time. Furthermore, the demand for rentals in the Los Angeles area is so high so I will continue exclusively managing the buying and selling of homes in the Los Angeles area.

No, it is beyond my expertise and there are too many well established companies out there.

I have worked with rentals for over a decade... but on the listing side.  In my county the SOC varies wildly from something that will fill your gas tank to a cup of coffee at a fast food drive through.

I've filled about 30-40% of my rental vacancies with agents.  Most have been through the online portals that I can post to myself.

I don't think so. Rentals aren't something I'd want to do. There are plenty of rental companies out there. Now, if I were in your area with a lot of vacation rentals I "might" reconsider.

I am at a stage of life where I can chose to work on projects that I enjoy.  My own rentals are one of those projects that I delegate to others.
