But I personal perfer the Peach Cobbler from Georgia and Cheesecake from New York

    But the caveat:  most "Key Lime pie" served in restaurants is fake.  It is not made with real Key limes (which are small yellow limes); they make it with Persian limes (green) or use some sort of mix.  When you eat the real thing, you know it!

 

Some "expert" declared that Strawberry Shortcake is the official Florida dessert, because a lot of strawberries are grown in Florida.   Tasty dessert, but I will take the Key lime, thank you.

 

Third choice (actually from Georgia) is Pecan Pie.

Hmm, the article says sopapilla for Arizona but I am not sure about that, haha.  Cheesecake has always seemed to be popular but everyone is different in their tastes.

Well yes in a way they've got AZ correct, except I rarely have desert so I wouldn't know.  I did look at MN, which is where I grew up.  It's funny that I never had or made a bundt cake until - this past May and that was only because a close friend wanted one for his birthday (and he grew in MN)!!  It was a big hit with the whole group.  Whiskey Bundt Cake! OMG they all want me to make it again sometime!!  Which I will!

Hi Roy... I always enjoy these kinds of reports. This one says coconut cake is the most popular in North Carolina and Buttermilk pie in South Carolina... can't say I've come across either of these with any regularity. I've seen other studies that say Krispy Kreme donuts are tops in North Carolina and coconut cake in South Carolina.

Well, it says that NC's favorite is Coconut Cake but, I honestly know NO ONE who would claim that to be their favorite dessert in NC!! LOL More popular are banana pudding, apple pie, cherry pie and cheesecake! Snickerdoodles rank way up there too at large gatherings!

My first thought was Banana pudding. This site mentions coconut cake and I'm not sure why. Some sites mention sweet potato pie because NC is the top sweet potato producer. Apple pie wouldn't surprise me. I do see Cream Brulee' on almost every restaurant menu and often see an apple dessert.
