Lots of variables. I think it would depend on the shade of blue and the type of house. BUT it certainly would sell better than pink...lol

I don't think they sell poorly. Compared to home in the community I'd say blue homes sell just as well as others. I can only think of one buyer who told me she doesn't like the color blue. As a matter of fact, I've had several buyers choose blue while building.

Did you know the color blue is the worlds most favorite color? It also happens to be my favorite color.

That would depend on the location, style of home, etc. As we often say "one size does not fit all."

That seems like a silly question Cate Griffing but I will say that a Seller had a VERY bright blue home and it was the principal objection at every open house held until they painted it a "normal" shade of brown. It sold in a couple of days. The moral here is FIRST impressions are extremely important weather it be the paint or the landscaping.

The answer depends on the exact color.  When our daughter painted her house blue about 50 people called to get the exact paint color.

I thought this was a lead-in to a joke.

It would depend on many factors.  It is also easily curable with paint.

I would think it depends on where!

Here I am in the Southwest, and there are virtually NO blue exteriors.
One golf course home I remember had this gawdawful 'nautical blue' exterior and it took FOREVER to sell.
Boy do buyers buy with their eyes!

Funny you should ask - in my personal experience, long ago I have observed that homes with blue exteriors definitely tend to linger on the market longer. Note, this is not "scientifically proven".

They can definitely sell. Depends on a lot of factors including the neighborhood and the shade of blue.  I've sold a few blue homes (but they were happy homes) over the years.

Years ago someone told me blue houses never sell. I proved them wrong when I sold one. Trouble was, it took 6 years on the market to sell!

It depends on where the home is located and what the trend is in the community. I am in a beach town and we are seeing more Key West style colors but the response is mixed. It all comes down to whether it is tastefully done and how it fits in with other homes in the area.

"Blue exteriors" is pretty broad and general for the many shades of blue that exist so best to narrow that down. Back in the day when I was single and lived up north, a friend painted his house Robin's egg blue and the opinions were mixed. It really comes down to the shade and how it blends in with the trim and front door colors.

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

I had one a couple of years ago (in a BUSY market) - teal blue - gorgeous craftsman in Charlotte's hottest neighborhood. The color was the ONLY complaint people had when they showed it.

We had the exterior painted gray and it sold RIGHT AWAY!
