Beta or VHS?  We have one of each in the basement and some old tapes still on hand...Jazzercise anyone??  Not sure I'd have the connector cables to play them on our current TVs.

We have a unit that plays\record VCR tapes and plays DVDs.

We got red of most of our VCR tapes since they went unused for a long time and were just taking up space.

They are all gone we got rid of them when Blue ray came in. I think we may have kept a few kids Disney movies on tape, what for I don't know. Collectors items I'm sure is what is in Tracy's mind! lol

Don't know why I keep the darn thing but yes, we have a working VCR and probably 200 tapes. DVD's have replaced the classics and there is plenty of vacation video, parties, reunions and other stuff remaining. New unopened video cassette six-packs sit patiently in hopes of providing entertainment.

Yes, I still have my VCR simply because I could not convert ALL my tapes over to DVD. So I had to keep in order to keep playing those tapes - LOL...

I do as well Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate and our collection continues to grow because most thrift stores sell the tapes for 50 cents or less. The same goes for cassette tapes... and by the way I can still listen to them thanks to Endre Barath, Jr. who sent me a deck he no longer was using.

I even have reel to real Fred. 😃

Hi Fred... I was going to say no to your answer, but seeing your picture I realize we do have one of those attached to a TV... but I never watch that particular TV and have no clue how to use the VCR with it. But we have no tapes.

We moved back to Canada in 2001 and at that time replaced all of our electronics, hence no VCR or tapes.  It was invigorating!

I have three VHS tapes with some of my son's events.  I plan to take them to be converted. Other than that, no equipment. It was donated or recycled a long time ago.  I am a mimimalist.  The less stuff I have, the better.

Wow, they have a Day for outdated electronics?

I suspect that I may have a few of those machines somewhere around here, and I do have far too many of the vcr tapes around.

Though I do suspect that I may not get around to digging these out and viewing them anytime in this lifetime.

I suspect that these will be another thing on the long list of crap my kids will throw in a dumpster after I die.

I don't think we have a VCR. My husband recently got rid of a lot of electronics and if we had a VCR he probably got rid of it. We do have VCR tapes as well as DVDs and Blue Ray disc. Most of them are Disney or other kids movies.

They are like books and photographs...extremely hard to throw out.
Old videos of trips to Russia.
Long gone friends.
I have not looked or watched any of them for 30 years.
As long as I keep them, it keeps a part of my life and theirs remembered.
I have a player, tapes and nearly certain any attempt to play or watch will not end well.
The rubber that moves the mechanics on VCRs does not age well.
