I have always thought that wall paper done right can be a beautiful thing Peter Mohylsky. BRIX REALTY . My mother was an excellent home interior decorator and knew how to use it. Hopefully the bright, loud, kitchen type of stuff will NOT make a return.

Yes, in some ways, I believe wallpaper is making a comeback. However, from my perspective, in a different fashion.  Unlike the days of old ... wallpaper was wall-to-wall, filling an entire room.  Now I am seeing it as an accent wall and even for putting some flair in a bookcase "backsplash" -- it's definitely a "personal" thing and so it can be a fun and exciting adventure to try different ideas.  But borders and wall-to-wall? Not seeing that anywhere around here anymore without calling it "outdated".

it does seem so, but I still don't suggest it for putting a home on the market.  Some people like it, others don't.  Put it in a house you plan to stay in a while for you, not for a buyer.

Seems to be... although homes that have NEVER been updated when wallpaper was in fashion seem to be crossing my path more often these days too.

We never put wall paper in a house that we are prepping to sell.

If wallpaper is the preference of an owner, they can personalize a house any way that they want.

It made its comeback several years ago and is once again quite popular.  Not in an 80' way but tasteful and creative.  Bold statement walls or ceilings are my favourite.

Using wallpaper as an accent has never really gone out of style. I have a client who is an amazing interior designer and just about every house she does (including her own) has wallpaper somewhere... I've sold her homes at top dollar and no one ever complained about the wallpaper. She's used wallpaper for decades. As with many things, it's how you use it and how much of it you use.

Yes it is. I heard for years that wallpaper is making a comeback and its here! Today's wallpaper is so cute that it almost makes me want some. The designs are adorable. You can even get your own custom design. I don't think we'll be wallpapering our entire kitchen all the rooms like some people did. It is more of an accent wall. I'm seeing it in bathrooms and kids rooms.

I do see selective use that has been appealing. Textured, architectural features with directional qualities are growing that make great use of room natural lighting.

Clean lines and/or solid texture - maybe.  As long as it's not the kind of wallpaper that looks like the inside of a coffin.......bleckh.

I've seen some really cool things done with high resolution print murals that cover an entire wall.

It never went out of style around here. Most commercial buildings always had wall paper. Residential is was usually used in one or 2 rooms. A recent fb post by a local Interior Designer: "In kitchens, people are bringing in contrasting islands, colorful tile and backsplashes. Wallpaper is hot again, especially bold, traditional patterns. Powder rooms are the perfect place for a making a strong statement with it"
