OH I will never EVER forget this one 'real estate guru' who begged me to get her booked with our Association to give a seminar then 21 people sitting waiting and she no showed no called no responded . . . I was so pissed that she got all these busy agents out of bed at 7:30 AM for nothing! 

I found out later that it was not the first time she did it . . . her 'excuse' to me was a car accident but another esteemed instructor got the same excuse and sent her a plane ticket and she STILL did not show! Thank God she is not in my orbit any more. TOXIC AF!

It seems you did not sponsor or stage the event so you have no control over whether it happened or not. Too bad! I assume your publicity included information about the people/organization who was staging the event. You cannot be blamed for the decision of others. If someone calls, simple explain what happened.

Yes. I don't remember the exact event, but I posted about it, then went on vacation. I got a call on vacation - I was experiencing a fantastically beautiful day and they wanted to know if the event was getting canceled because of the pouring rain. It took me a second to figure out what they were asking as I looked at the clear sky.

The fact that you are getting calls from the post is awesome!  Events are always subject to change.  I read about a CE class on here and signed up for it but then was surprised that the teacher wasn't the same one in the advertisement for the class, haha.  I mainly signed up for the class because of who the teacher was.

Can't say I've ever had that happen but that's a good reason to add a note at the bottom to call (Whoever is sponsoring the event) to get status updates.

My Events Calendar for about three years during the pandemic was loaded with cancelled events.  Concerts and other events are being cancelled still today due to fear or lockdowns.

I used to do a lot of localism posts, especially the shuttle and rocket launches which were very well received. The problem was that launches are often scrubbed or delayed due to weather or technical difficulties so I had to constantly update the post. That is one reason I stopped doing those posts.
