Yes. I cannot say it here - too risky - might get kicked off the Island.

The stock market is reacting to the interest rate hike, the rising unemployment numbers and the record high inflation (which is what Janet Yellen referenced as the reason for the rate hike, not Putin). There have also been a slate of bad earnings this week as well as last week, most notably Netflix, as well as reduced outlooks on Uber and Lyft due to the rising gas prices.

My guess is continued worries about inflation.

When stocks dive, real estate is the go to. When Real Estate relaxes, the stock market is the go to. There are other dynamics too complex for me to explain. However, one thing remains and is a constant. Cause & effect. Its either natural or man-made. If man-made, somebody is up to something.

No worries, Will. I hope your retirement funds are professionally managed.
All you need to do is to sell more houses and add to your retirement funds.

We're still in unchartered territory and I don't think the Feds truly know what to do to balance things. People are reacting in unpredictable ways. Plus, we still have a housing shortage. Now, the most vulnerable can't buy in many areas. Only time will tell if raising interest rates this much and this fast was the way to go. Personally, I think it was too fast.

Interest rates are a tool used to control an aggressive economy and inflation, perhaps they are looking at an increase in the market as a hint to adjust the interest rate.

What if we went back to being energy sufficient. Prices would come down on gas, food, building materials , etc. Seems simple?

Rate increase was baked in, and was rejoiced as it didn't get a 0.75 rate increase. Irrational exuberance pulled back market on Thursday.

Stock market worries: earnings coming out not so pretty, we expected .75 and this means two more jumps in the summer, the cost of everything is higher...
