K-1s are due by March 15th each year but I have had them show up as late as mid-April and one year, it was the end of August before they arrived!

 

My CPA and I worked out a system where if I don't receive them and get them to her by March 31st every year, she files an extension so we don't file and have to amend.

 

It's a shame we have to do that but it's cheap insurance considering the alternative.

In the past was involved with several limited partnerships who were less than punctual. As a result, extensions were filed and final return not filed until very late in the year. Now-a-days my return is filed by early March!

I don't know if I have even received all of my tax documents, I just upload them as soon as I get them and let my accountant tell me what might still be needed.  I was under the impression that we were supposed to receive all docs by a certain date.

If you got it last year and your CPA is digital (99.9% of them are) they can pull the information from the EIN and State ID. Even turbo tax can pull most of them without the paper in the mail.

I just received a few days ago a W-2 from a Class Action Administrator.  I guess I received a settlement from a class action lawsuit sometime in 2021.  The total amount was for $1.21. I don't remember receiving the money.

It has been a while. Sometimes companies make these forms available online and send a form as a follow up. They should have let you know if that's the case.

I got one at the end of March.  The date on it was January 16th.  It's a joke.

Thankfully, I went online to get what I needed for my CPA to complete my tax returns.
