I always have and always will do the right thing. No. Matter. What.
So when I am told "just close the deal" and doing so throws my client under the bus, I do not close the deal. When lender fraud is taking place I do not just close the deal.
I guess we can net that out to mean I was told not to do the right thing or be honest and throw my fiduciary duties out the window so that people can get paid.

Nothing... it's more about what I DON'T do that people said I should do, like cold-calling. Haven't done it in 30 years and have done just fine without it. Or that I had to hold open houses... rarely do them and my clients' homes always sell in record time regardless of market conditions... it's all about the marketing.
As for discussing politics or religion... no way, no how, unless my client is a close friend. Nobody's business what my views are in a professional setting.

I was taught listings are king, you have to have inventory of all kinds, prices, locations. So hustle, get those listings, produce. And driving with the customer to learn more about them and get reactions along the way helped save everyone time in the selection process (prior to COVID protocols then virtual showings numbers went through the roof).
If you are parked at the listing, waiting, you can whip out the to do list and make cell calls, think about your next blog post but being at the office for the waiting for a no show means you can help other walk ins, those calling in. I don't get embroiled in strong opinions on politics, religion debates and too busy chasing down listings, helping match up buyers Tony Lewis .
So from day one 42 years years ago in real estate, it has always been time management, doing all the things trained to do save everyone time. The seller, buyer, me. Don't enjoy political or religious debates that just eat up time and distract and alienate.
