Long tail, evergreen, pure real estate related content about homes for sale, subdivisions, etc.   The places the 800 lb gorillas can't go because they don't live and work in my local market.  I've focused on the main subdivisions and type of housing and price point that I want to receive calls from. 

I ditched the early efforts that resulted in calls about $50,000 investment properties and buyers wanting to buy a sheriff's sale without an agent.

There's a little bit about me and us in our blog & websites, but it's not the focus.

Great questions and one I think we as agents need to focus on. The majority of my business is past clients, friend/past client referrals and agent referrals. Outside of that I have people reach out through my website, social media and my google business page.

Blogging.  Trying to focus on RELEVANT content.  I stress the relevant part because I think some real estate blogs have recipes and what happened in history today and other content that is completely unrelated to real estate.  If I were trying to sell my house, your casserole recipe is not going to persuade me.  Likewise, even if it is a fantastic casserole, I'm not interested in buying or selling right now.

Relevant content about real estate is what I try to focus on in my blog posts.

In my ancient residential days, having a fun website, localism blogging and direct and print were the magic bullet, and this is why the robo vomiters do their market stuff . . . so consumers will associate their name with 'local expert'.

CRE, it is less online and more print, direct mail, and repeat and referral people . . . most of whom have known me for a decade or longer, and the people they send to me.

ALWAYS the best thing that can be done to stay relevant is make EACH TRANSACTION as good as you possibly can . . . get along with the principals, support staff and agents on the other end . . .

The consumers I value is the ones actively setting the stage to buy.
That means, in real estate, they are driving the streets. After all, one should not lose sight of the reality all real estate is LOCAL.
I offer, anonymous, control, immediate results and benefits at the place they are most vulnerable. These will be fish taken from the aquariums of others.
Meanwhile veteran agents still see 90% of their business coming from their database.
For cultivating 'unknowns' from the internet, the key factor is capturing their IP. Then an agent can be as annoying as every other internet marketer.
