Like most things, if you do your due diligence, you'll discover this is a false premise!  Most "Russian" liquor isn't Russian at all.  Also, it has already been purchased here in North America so it'll not have the end result you've been led to believe. 

"Vodka bottles sold in the U.S like Smirnoff, Ciroc, Tito's, Absolut, Svedka, Grey Goose, SKYY, and New Amsterdam, are not made in Russia either. Those brands are manufactured in Sweden, France, United Kingdom, or the United States."

I don't think there is anything from Russia that I knowingly purchase.  Were that a particular brand of Vodka from Russia that I drank regularly I can see finding a alternative.

We have never bought it before so would not do so now. Most bars and liquor stores have pulled all those products from their shelves and are not selling or serving them as of a day or two ago.

Good Russian Vodka is a delight. When I was there 16 years ago I brought several bottles back with me. Now, if I take 1 or 2 drinks in a year people might think I'm on a binge...lol
