Monopolizing?

The blog roll is composed of 20 slots per page.  Current limit is 10 posts per day per account.  Two people have each posted their 10 and then were stopped from posting further (or have already adapted to the new rules and knew they couldn't post more than 10).  One of the two bloggers is a 3rd party hired blogger and the other most likely has outsourced their blogging.  Neither currently leaves comments or otherwise participates in the site beyond using ActiveRain as a blogging host site.

If you accessed the blog roll at the absolute most perfect time, those two would have ONE PAGE of blog roll between them.  More likely they'll have part of a page and part of the following page.

Hardly burdensome to the members of this community to have to click one page to move past them considering just a short time ago it might have been necessary to click past 30-50 PAGES, not 30 to 50 POSTS, to get to something different.

UGH, well no one reads those posts anyway, and even 20 a day is a lot. Wherever we go in this business, there are those who will use bad manners. F em. LOL

If you're talking about two people experiencing the frustration of hitting that 10 post limit wall (Instead of the 100's we might have seen otherwise).  I hardly call that "monopolizing".

 

I call that a joyful viewing of a functioning breakage system in action, and it warms the very cockles of my Scroogian heart to see it.

 

Let 'em bash their heads against the wall, day after day.  G'head, slam at it morons.

Just thinking out load.  Is there an advantage to listing 10 post in a row?  It seems like spam to me and, like others, I skip right over all of them.  Does their stuff show up more often in Google searches?  Why would people pay for 10 posts in a row?  If I start adding multiple posts per day, would that make my posts show up more on Google? 

It seems to me that writing good content that brings in multiple comments should rank much higher that multiple posts that are mostly ignored.  Is that the case?

  Hi, Endre.

      I was thinking that if I had a large office, of say, 100 agents, I would get each of those 100 agents to join ActiveRain.   Then I could have each agent post their 20 blog limit.  They would use their own computer with a different IP address.   That way I could continue to get 2000 blog posts in a row and jam up 40 pages of ActiveRain.

     What do you think?

If John has 20 listings and Mary has 1, is it because John is putting more effort into it?  Or is it because Mary is a victim and the system isn't working for her?

Is the solution for Mary to work harder to get more listings?  Or to complaint hat Bob is monopolizing the listing market?

You can write more blog posts so that YOU can monopolize the blog roll.  If your blog post are high quality, you might even help your business.

The good part is they posted their 10 and moved on so real people can have their blogs seen now. The next day it repeats and teh saddest part for them is posting a blog and moving on misses the best part of AR which is the interaction of its members
