I have a closing today that was somewhat complicated in terms of paperwork because it's an estate and the heir are in different states... attorney did not get paperwork out until late afternoon last Wednesday and then closed from Thursday through Monday. It's been an insane couple of days getting this done for today as the paperwork was not correct and needed revisions for documents that had to be notarized and FedExed.

It is incredibly frustrating, Peter! We already deal with attorney and lenders being off on the weekends and Mondays being zooish because NOW they want to chat with us IMMEDIATELY!
The holidays have added another layer of frustration as now, even the skeleton crew is on holiday!

My last two closing went without a hitch or delay.
Both were new construction with builder financing.
I guess when all parties are vested in a timely outcome, things work better.
#3 was a resale to a cash buyer. Also without a hitch although I needed to provide significant elbow grease.

HOA companies have always been difficult to get in touch with and it is worse since the Pandemic has many working from home. I'm sure the holiday hours don't help at all.
