Richie - we've looked into this, and your post about convection ovens was deleted accidentally due to a 'glitch'.  Unfortunately, that same 'glitch' has made it difficult to restore it, thus far.  We're working on bringing it back, but as an aside, two things.

1) You haven't been here for decades. You joined AR February 22, 2010.

2) Your convection post didn't have 17 answers, it only had 4, but all four will be restored.

Sorry for the inconvenience.  You are indeed a valued AR veteran and we apologize for this mix-up.  You have not been targeted in any way.

Stranger things have happened here recently. I can't imagine someone getting worked up and overheated about a convection oven...but then again...! LOL

What's cooking with that Richie Alan Naggar ? You must be in the book you work all year to not end up in for Santa's visit. Wonder why you are in the doghouse?

Well I see ARMS has the answer and it was just a mistake.  Convection oven or not - I can see why that could be a very testy subject - LOL.  Naught!  I'm sure it's because of your cool hat.  Kind of like ......the dude in Raiders of the Lost Ark!!!

Seems to me several questions may have disappeared. Glad that ARMS responded with an update about a glitch.

I've done a lot of cooking lately and all the recipes have been along the lines of "Pre-Heat the oven to 450 (Conventional) 425 (Convection) and cook for X minutes."

Don't know the original question, but typically in my experience convection lowers the temperature at which you have to cook something.  It is also the same as an air fryer!  That's all an air fryer is, a small convection oven!

I have a convection/regular oven - it does both.  I really like it, when it works.  Have had to replace the igniter a couple of times (propane stove).

All of my ovens and microwaves have been convection for the past 30 years.  It simply means hot air circulates around what you're cooking so less time and less temperature is required.
