If a Broker or Agent from eXp feels that they are being abused by another Realtor in violation by the Code of Ethics, they can file a complaint with their local Association. NAR does not directly enforce the Code of Ethics.

I have found that most agents are not as ethical as they would like people to believe that they are.

And the public does notice this.

I suspect no one is monitoring that type of behavior.

Self-policing and reporting methinks 🤗

It seems that people disparage others all of the time regardless of a code of ethics and nothing is done about it so people keep doing it until it is done to someone in a position of power and then it becomes a problem, haha.  The laws and rules aren't enforced for the common folk.

NAR doesn't have the man power to actively police all the hundreds (and maybe thousands) of different social media platform real estate groups out there.  A lot of their enforcement has always relied upon the local associations having their members "self police."

I'm fairly certain that the only thing they really police themselves are URLs with the term "Realtor" in them... and even then I've seen those last for years.

Different business models appeal to different people.  No one should disparage any other brokerage.  If agents support it, then it will succeed. If not, it will fail.  Let the market decide and stay above the fray.

If you think that someone is violating the Code of Ethics, you should probably report them to NAR.  I don't think NAR has someone who is monitoring every internet forum out there.  They don't know about it unless someone reports it.  Since it matters to you, you should report it.

No one should be disparaging any other agent or brokerage. If someone comes to you and asks you your opinion about a certain office, be honest of course, but don't go blasting negativity all over the place, especially online.

As for policing that kind of thing, there's no way any person or company could police this... On FB alone there are 2.85 Billion users a month. That's a heck of a lot of information.

It is evidence  of a good socieity when unjust laws are NOT enforced.
Both KW (multi-level marketing) and Zillow (no need for agents) have exhibited behavior worthy of exposure.
Exp also violated law in their behaviour of interference of existing contracts (Recruting existing REMAX brokers) as a recent lawsuit revealed.
It is only the CERTAINTY of EXPOSURE that changes behavoir.
Meanwhile, NAR shelters organization in need of exposure.
When anyone decides to comment of poor agent acumen, performance of duties or behavior, please be aware of what is tolerated by these perpetual bad boys in the industry. Bad soldiers, bad team members are a reflection of leadership. Bad leadership should not be protected.
Handing out business cards at a funeral is something ONLY a KW agent would do. That behavior originated at the TOP and is worthy of headlining.
CEO says such bad behavior should get a free pass.
A just society does not enforce unjust laws.

It has to be reported and taken care of on the local level. As mentioned above, each company has their model and as an agent you find the one that fits you best. Sometimes you change and a different model is a better fit. I'm sure we've all seen good and not so good behavior with many different brokerages. Just like in life, I think some agents call out other companies to life themselves up. Perhaps they're insecure? Who really knows. In the end, I believe it is important agents have a choice as to where we want to hang our license, they police their own behavior, seek to understand where others are coming from first, and try to be part of the solution.

In my world of real estate, agents who play well with others, get repeat business from their peer group.  As for me, agents who beheave badly, or do things that are out of line, I stay away from if at all possible. I think that is generally the case with other agents as well.  To make a complaint would probably start with a client who was obviously harmed; then you have no choice but to get into it with another agent or brokerage.
