Bloggers on this site are very happy when you discover them, follow them, and then interact with them on their posts (likes and comments).  When you make these genuine connections (spammy comments are easy to spot), you will find the majority of those that you interact with on their blogs will reciprocate and come read your posts as well. I hope to hear a good report soon that your follower count rises as you put a lot of effort into your posts from what I've seen. It is a good feeling when you put a lot of work into a post and you get people to come and read it. Besides the blog feeds, you will discover new people to check out and follow based on the comments that you see that members make on other posts that you have been reading. Welcome to AR and keep up the good work.

"Following" someone on ActiveRain doesn't take much commitment from either side.  I have had people "follow" me who have never commented on one of my posts or perhaps don't even have any presence here.   It used to make me scratch my head but I have learned "it takes all kinds".  Especially in the world of anything like social media.  

I appreciate those who choose to follow and either engage with commenting on mine or the posts of others with interesting/insightful comments or who share something I might find fascinating or thought-provoking.

I have followed most of the people that are on Q & A

I have never known an inner prompt to fail when followed or acted upon. That "call" leads to our hearts desires being released or summoned and fulfills all wants and needs. Hesitation, doubt & confusion by contrast robs us of that growth. Go with what you know & asking questions supports it

You can follow anyone, but if you would like to promote your business, write about what you do, promote yourself in a post (not Q & A) and see if anyone expresses interest.

Follow five additional members each day to build your network and to earn points. And, become Facebook friends with them as well.

Members on Active Rain and real estate agents in general respond to the same marketing principles as the general public. Agents are consumers also.
The issue on AR is if you follow everyone you actully follow no one.
I find that a unique voice, being controversial and offering candy gets resonses.....just like ALL marketing.
But here on Active Rain, the audience has an RAS that is all about new ways to generate a high priority list or accelerating engagement. We all know lead generation, (personal marketing) is more important than being the community expert. Leading or asking about success in these disaplines results in the raising of hands and the opportunity to create engagement through self-selection mechanisms.
We are all teachers at heart so getting those hands in the air is not difficult. Well crafted questions allow the curation of the audience.
