My favorite time of the day is sunrise - I'm up at 5:00AM most days naturally, 6:00AM if I sleep in from being out late the night before. I'm in bed by 10:00PM though 90% of the time.

I also quit work by 6PM most evenings and I'm most effective between 6:00AM - 2:00PM so I schedule accordingly.

Been like that for 24 years, every since my son was born.

But, you have to do you - not what others do. Model them if they have success, but be you. You have no idea what their private life looks like, only the public one.

I'm up at 5am, but don't use an alarm clock. So if I happen to get up a bit later or earlier, it's all good. Today I woke up at 4:40am but didn't get up until 4:55am.

If that's what it takes to be successful, I'd rather be UNsuccessful.  You have to maintain a balance between quality of life, time spent with family and friends and work.

Starting at 5:15 in the morning, would mean that I'd have to go to sleep by 9:00 at night.  Just not gonna work.

For a period of time, I got up at 4 am.  The practice of doing that had to do with meditation.  I meditated for 1-2 hours. Following that was 1-hour workout. Starting my day after meditating (taking care of my heart and soul) and then taking care of my body, is so empowering.

Along with that, I eliminated toxic people and avoided negative things (not only people but movies, tv shows, etc.)

Find what works for you.  That is what is truly most important.

Yeah my day starts at the witching hour, and the first hour or two are just for me. Business #1 starts way before the sun comes up, I have half a day in before business #2 starts ringing phones. That's why when the sun goes over the yardarm, I'm shutting it down and if you call me at night you'll get your response before you wake up in the morning. Everyone has their own way of doing business, this is mine and it's worked for me for a good while now. 😎

I am behaving more like my parents everyday.
Early to bed, early to rise.
My rise time is 2 hours before sunrise. The reason is I don't want to be running with the sun is up. In 30 minutes can get really hot.
I shoot for 6 hours of sleep but when one reaches the aget to receive those AARP mailings we settle for 4 continuous hours. Like you, I find 4 continuos hours to be 'not that bad.'
Early risers get more done before 9 am than others can do all day. A fresh day, fresh coffee....that is my most creative time when a YES mentality leads to amazing things.

This is a very important question for many reasons. We all need correct & adequate rest so that the body may bring itself current & make repairs as well as monitor itself. Now as to time, it is so precious because it has not only been rationed out but is not guranteed in any way. Finally, the balance of life must be applied. With much to do, we allot time & circumstances to play, work, explore. We keep score using "satisfaction" & results. For now, & subject to change as I deem proper: 5:00 a.m. rise & shine. 8:00 p.m. reading until 9:00 p.m. with beddy bye beckoning. Life is good & wonderful

Select the hours that work the best for you. If you want to walk for an hour and have time to shower and have breakfast before getting to the office by 8, you need to be an early riser.
