Usually 30-45 days in my area.  Sometimes longer if the seller needs more time, perhaps to find a replacement home.  One of the highly negotiable terms of our purhase contract.

First...we must agree on what "execute" means. The definition below was taken off on the internet:

Definition of Execute

Noun

1.    To complete, and give effect or validity to, a legal document, decree, law, or judicial sentence.

2.    Fulfilling legal requirements of a contract or other instrument by signing or sealing.

So...you can see that, once a contract is written, it can take only a short time to "execute" the contract.

Yet, I do not think what you wrote is really what you want to ask.

If you are asking how long it take to complete a real estate transaction, that is not a question that can be precisely answered.

Some transactions, as in a cash purchase, can move to close in days.

Others, due to inspections, negotiations, financing, escrow processing and other possible delays can easily take 30 days or, in some cases, much longer.

Many contracts are written with a close of approximate 30 days in mind and work out satisfactorily.

To sign a contract - depends on many factors.  With e-signatures, it can be done in a matter of minutes.

I don't think you are going to get a satisfactory answer to this.  There is no typical timeline.  There are so many variables.

It's almost like asking, "What is the typical timeline for planning a vacation?"  Some people do it in a day.  Others plan for a year for the vacation.  And most fall somewhere in between.

Homebuying is like that.  Sometimes it works quickly.  Other times there are dozen hangups that make the process take longer.

Some in a matter of hours and in one comercial transaction pre-technology era the process dragged out for 18 months and took another 60 days to close. No right answer.

As Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist said, signatures nowadays don't take a lot of time.

But the negotiating part is a different story. That can go quickly as in a few hours, or a few days. Or it could be like one I did a few years ago that took six months!

If you are talking on just signing a contract, it depends on what state you live in and what the process is. In NY state, where the contract comes after the accepted offer and after the inspection and involves attorneys, it could take a month or more. In MT, it happens when the offer is accepted - so an offer could be made and contract signed on the same day.

If you are talking about how long it takes to close on a house, again it depends not only on the location but the specifics of the deal. It could go from weeks to months to sometimes a year or more.

I would say there is no typical time frame, and it depends on what you are specifically talking about - time to get a contract signed? time from date of acceptance to closing?

If a Seller is dragging their feet on responding to an offer a Buyer can put a response time in the offer or if they are not responding  tell a Buyer you can pull your offer off the table at any time prior to them accepting. Unless the Buyer puts a deadline there is no time table...

1. buyer sees subject, chats with spouse, writes offer sent in 1 hour to 24 hours.

2. Listing agent clarifies details seller agrees and signs in 2 hours to 24 hours

3. maybe some counter offers add 2 days

4. inspection, appraisal, final any fixes 4 days to 10 days

5. Close loan can be on day 8 if everyone agreed and record on day nine

or maybe they agreed to 30 days?

To answer your question:

a) to have signed contract by all parties 1-3 days

b) to actually close and get you paid 8 days to 60 days - depends on if the creek rises, they quit their job, they pay a bail bondsman their down payment and need to find a gift, how rural, how willing, how good they are at opening emails and digitally signing papers.

7 days for cash purchase with no contingencies
30-45 days with a conventional mortgage
45-60 days VA FHA.
30 to 190 days if repairs such as septic are required.
The only rule to be aware of is THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES.

mere seconds for signing it. How long to close? well that depends on lots of factors cash? loan? va or fha loan? attorney schedule? buyers and sellers schedule?  on average I'd say 35 days to close from signed contract.  But "execution" in my world means signed.

To complete a transaction from contract acceptance to recording, 30 to 45 days normally in my area.  Depends if a loan is involved.  Actually, if a loan has been approved, the lender wants to close fast.  If your question meant, getting the purchase contract signed all around, often done in a day but it can be done within in a couple of hours from writing it up to acceptance by buyer if someone is pushing.
