Hi Fred - I had a car transported across the country many years(actually decades) ago.  Don't recall much of the details but I do know it was a part of a job relocation package.  I can't even imagine that happening these days.

Most auto transports seem reliable. Many people here in VA that are going to Florida use the Lorton Auto Train. Some of my relatives have used it and were always happy with their service.  https://www.amtrak.com/auto-train

I have not personally but many of my clients have with no problems. They'd rather fly then drive. Glad it was OK for you.

I have not had this experience.  I've known people to do this, usually it's a friend of theirs that they trust enough to have them drive the car.  Costs them more in the long run probably with lodging and air fare but may be quicker?  My preference would be covered auto transport, that's what they Lambo, Bently and Ferrari dealers out here use.  I've seen cars get pelted by rocks or gravel on the roads.  That's why the dealers have the cars transported with wraps on them.

I have not use the service myself, however I do know a fair amount of Canadians that have used it last year to get their cars down to the States and were very happy with the service. If the border remains closed to us again this winter they will be using it again.

Yes did this. Sold a car to a person in another state who hired a transport to come get it. They did. Professionally done and simple too. There is no pro or con. If you need the car transported...this way works.

I had a client last year that moved their renovated vet in an enclosed trruck.   They had a lift inside, and lots of really cool cars they were transporting.   The clients were very happy, not sure about the cost, never asked.

Good morning Fred. Had a neighbor who used them all the time. He never had any problems using the small independents he found on the internet. They inspected and photographed mother vehicle before loading. Enjoy your day

I know a young man who did that every year for some extra money and as a service to an older snow bird couple, driving one way and flying back (northeast/Florida). That might be another option. I would want to examine the safety record of the moving company to get comfortable with it. Don't know if my husband would ever trust some of his precious autos to any moving company.

Hi Fred- our neighbor and friends used an auto transport company to get their cars from Delray up to the Jersey Shore all of the time. Worked out great.

I had an out of state seller some years ago selling her Mom's house. I had to meet the auto transport company before closing, verify all information, and hand over keys. They were right on time and per the client the car ended up where it was supposed to be, and when (from CA to FL). That's been my only experience.
