YES! They are all over the place here too, Annette! I took clients to lunch last week and they had a QR code to use to view their menu. I loved it because I could pinch my phone screen and enlarge it and not have to squint to see the menu like I normally do!


We took our son out for dinner this week to a different restaurant and they also had it. Even my millennial children loved it and shared that this was MUCH preferred to a 'regular' menu!

 

Another thing I have noticed lately is that they are on product warranties and some companies are sending them to send you to their review pages. 

 

QR codes are not tired and old as we thought they were!

Yes many restaurants here provide a QR code to open the menu. It helps them to not have to make copies of the menu or to clean the menu after each use.

I scan them routinely in the grocery store instead of clipping coupons.

I have used a QR code on my business cards for years. When you have a long URL it is easier than typing in a string. Young people use their phones or tablets for everything. A QR code is faster and easier for them.

QR codes have been around for quite some time and I never did like the concept. A local restaurant tried this and it was unsuccessful, so they went back to handing out menu's - they're washable. We have been touching stuff the entire time.

I have been forced to scan to see menues.  but sometimes the strength of the internet is too week to get the desired menue.  mixed blessings.  

 

It is here to stay but still needs some work

Personally, I scan nothing and touch whatever I want to touch. I've yet to see anyone scanning anything in business windows.

We were recently in Disney World and went to lots of restaurants on site and off. Everyone of them had this. Plus with the quick service in Disney you look at the menu plus order what you want, then you get a notification when your order is ready. It's pretty neat.

Many of our restaurants are requiring patrons to us the phones to scan these QR codes to read the menu.   Kind of used to it.

Yes during the brief shut down we had in AZ we did scan menus.  That's pretty much ended now as we've been open a long, long time - thankfully.
