I think that I want to see all comments, good, bad or ugly, haha.  I like to know what is going on.  I prefer honesty as well, not just people telling me what I want to hear.  If I am doing something wrong, I don't mind being called out publicly for it either.

I have that "power" of sorts.  I ignore.  And I also "report" and in some cases, although rarely, have deleted.

I asked for that many years ago. The response at that time was it was not going to happen. 

Like it or not, we do have some snarky-butt people here and some toxic people that love leaving their waste behind on others.

I would like the feature to be able to block people here and not see their face or their comments. 

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I know we have a report button ... but that is in the hands, eyes, and heart of someone else who may not find the comment inappropriate ... making it ineffective from an author's perspective.

We have a Report button for unacceptable comments, and a delete button for even quicker action.

OMG . . . my FB block list greatly exceeds my friends list . . . IDK maybe 3x now? 

If AR had it, it would be awesome . . . imagine eradicating the visual of the roboposters! Drive by commentors. And cut and paste canned answers . . . to name just a few. 

I'd expect to be nuked by many and wear it as a badge of honor!

I am satisfied with the "report" button. Given our current political climate not a fan of blocking. The politicians already want that duty so only their opinion counts. No way!

I think community standards are fine and we don't need to censor people's comments. Am I understanding your question?

We remove spam comments on our own sites... when you report it, the wheels move slowly and the spammer wins... for awhile. They are taking advantage of the code chaos and invading our platform from all angles.

Appears to be in alignment with the cancel culture.
What could go wrong?

Hi Endre- I don't mind seeing the comments because I can always choose to ignore and move on. I don't want to waste my time with people like that. 

Where can I submit my  list of blocked responders? 😄

I have not had a need for this kind of feature. Delete the comments you do not wish to show.

I better get my head out of the sand! I seem to be missing thing on here! 

I have an open mind for everyone's thoughts and comments. If you don't want to read someone's questions, blogs or comments, don't you have the option of just not clicking on that item?

It's been one we've discussed off and on over the years.  Most seem in favor of it, but the site wasn't capable of handling it in the past.  With the recent upgrades/fixes to the platform, that may be able to be implemented now.  Definitely a good thing to suggest on this week's Zoom call.  I think Ben is supposed to be on this week.

Aloha Endre Barath, Jr., in the age of anti-social media and outrage, I find I'm not that interested in the over-sharing opines of branded narcissistic nincompoops and thus, thankfully, I have have neither the desire nor the necessity to block their comments.

However, with that said, all trolls should be deleted and blocked permanently or donated to science whichever better serves the common good.😉
