Never. I was taught never to park in the driveway in case of a problem and someone tried to box me in with their car. It's a safety issue.

I imagine the answer may be local.  And that's why having local real estate representation is important.  One who not only knows the rules/common practice but also courtesy that is accepted/encouraged.

It depends, I would not do it if it was NC as normally fences are all over the place. I see any kind of car in the drive, I park in the street.

I don't know, there are no reasons why she couldn't. I can't see why builder would get upset.

This is a geographical issue.

In my last area of NY, we always parked in the driveway. In most areas, there was no such thing as street parking. That's what driveways are for, to drive on. And it didn't matter if it was a new house and the driveway might get tire tracks. 

And where I am now, same thing applies. There isn't "street" parking. There are many long driveways, some are paved and some are gravel. They are all expected to be used.

And I do park facing out so I can get out of there quickly if need be.

Not typically when the house is new construction. As for a resale I try to park on the street. If it is a long driveway, I am parking on it.

 I remember a Builder's Open House for Agents.   Some agents parked in the driveway of the model home.  One of them left an oil stain on the brand new driveway.   After that, the builder put up saw horses with red flags to block his driveways.

Generally speaking, I park on the street.  However, if there is no street parking, I will park in the driveway, or allow my buyers to park there.  I'm always concerned there will be a car coming out of the driveway to leave that I have inadvertently blocked.

It must be a regional thing. If that were here on the Monterey Peninsula (and especially Pebble Beach where many homes have private gates) agents and their clients are actually asked to drive in and park. It's a first step to showing how many cars fit there.  Personally, I like to park in the street for a clean getaway.   But I can see your point at that house. There is parking on the street.  If I were the listing agent, I would put a barrier up (2 plants?) so people wouldn't drive up.

No, as long as there was street parking nearby. 

A model home 'should' have the driveway 'cones' there. We had those for the days long ago when we sat models  . . . 

I'd be loathe to drip oil or anything on a driveway . . . and someone may want their parking space when they arrived home.

Yes, and I leave space for the buyer to park next to me. They're buying the driveway too, they should check it out. We have rolling hills in our area. Driveways may be steep or they may be graded down toward the house. Sometimes driveways look worse than they are. Parking on it may leave the buyer saying it isn't as bad as they thought or it is worse than they expected. We do have flat driveways as well. Sometimes I do park on the street. I don't always park on a new construction driveway and they're usually blocked off anyhow.

During an open house, no. But if it was a showing then yes, i park on 1 side and leave the other for my buyer. If t is a 1 car drivewy, im in the street and my buyer in the driveway

If the buyer is in my ride, I park in the drive.
Otherwise I want the prime spot reserved for the BUYER. And sometimes they bring and entourage. So, just in case.
Mind you, a buyer caravan has not happened int he past 15 months, but I'm sure home buyer behavior will return to normal when we have  all been shot.

Nina Hollander does a great job of discussing the safety issues with this.  I have done it when there is no parking otherwise available... but I also know where to hit a car to make it move out of my way.  I tend to leave the driveways open for the clients, especially if they're older or have mobility issues.

I usually do not park in driveway when showing homes. Would not want to get blocked in plus I think allowing my buyers to puul up in the driveway is better.  Some new home communites have the driveway blocked to keep it looking clean and new,
