Recruiting at this time is fine - it's actually making the move right now that is not very smart.

This is a very emotional time - not a time to make such a big decision.

I also feel that those who are recruiting heavily now raises a big red flag for me - they're not financially stable is the signal I get. It's almost cries of desperation.

I think recruting at this time is brilliant but as Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor e-Pro, CRS, RCS-D, Vets said it could be a disaster for the agent.

Over the years, I have received recruiting messages and incentives in some pretty unusual ways including text messages.  My thoughts, then and likely now, are ignore/delete/move on. . .

Considering the fact that brokers are constantly recruiting, I'm not sure why recruiting at this time would be considered in poor taste or an act of desperation. Additionally, an agent stimulus package is a great marketing tool, IMHO.

I think it is ridiculous but I'm sure someone told them otherwise. If people are fed up enough, they might move. I think it's crazy as we're in a pandemic. Where is that planned in the books?

When I receive a recruiting text, I respond that the text violates the CAN-Spam Act.  I then forward the text to 7726, which reports it to FCC.

If a broker is not following that law, there are other laws they are ignoring as well.

My recommendation is to "look" and examin the offer. If it helps take you where you want to go then do it regardless of what "time" it is or whether or not someone else approves.

Clearly their focus in a shut down economy is to walk through the door currently open. Recruiting for MLM real estate companies on always in play.

My thoughts are: "Hmmm, more virus stuff or a little something about real estate?"  And if I am disillusioned with where I'm at, the broker not showing any love,  the vision extinguished....a new voice from the wilderness may be exactly what is needed to compel change.......as long as no Kook-Aid is involved.

I think a real estate office broker/owner/manager should always be recruiting..... but selectively.....  recruiting by text is not a good method!!!!

offering a well-versed agent as yourself a sign on bonus would be a good decision, but it should be done face to face....

I'd delete that text!!! but that's just my opinion.... what the hell do I know!

Fred,

I have seen this for a while now especially on the luxury end.  They were offering 6 figure signing bonuses to the top producers...The effect on some turned a 3 office company here into one that is limping along.  I can understand the decisions that are being made on recruiting someone like you to their fold..

I like being our own bosses, and we were offered all kinds of benefits way back when...we turned all down.  It may work for some...A

I know, it is annoying. I don't know about "agents stimulus packages".

The callers usually have no idea who they called and usually my answer is short :" No, thank you, remove my number from your list".

With e-mails and texts - I just delete them.

Good agents do not move from company to company. And why I should hire not productive agents?!

I might throw this in. I am with EXP and we are a virtual brokerage. It's a company that was already prepared for times like this, so it's an ideal time to point that out.

That being said, if anyone is interested in learning more, shoot me a message and I can invite you to a company intro/overview (no pressure at all)
