I don't encourage Fruit Cake bakers.

I follow recipes, make notes, and then make adjustments for my personal tastes the next time. 

You lost me at fruit cake. 

Both answers could be useful depending on the reader.

There are different types of questions and answers posted here.  some fun, some not.  I tend to read thru some depending on my mood. 

Both would work just fine, but #2 would be a lot more useful. A tip I probably can't find if I just do a google search. I'd appreciate #2 more.

PS - for the record, I will never make a fruit cake. Yuk.

#1 is more concise but, in this example, I cook like #2 - so I appreciate the new twist suggested by the commenter.

The only reference I have to fruitcakes is a story in the New Yorker that marked the debut of a talented American writer,  Truman Capote.

And I would not make a fruitcake, neither one of us like it.  And I have no expectations of helpful or otherwise when it comes to the answers once gets. A

3. I would never do such a thing.

The last hint of a fruitcake that I ate was part of an MRE eaten while fighting smokechaser fires in the mountains of Northern Idaho back in the early 80's.

One bite was enough, the rest was unpackaged and left for the local wildlife, however I suspect they were smart enough to reject it also.

Chances are that is remains on the side of that mountain, uneaten and still in perfectly preserved form.

Fruit cake? Who needs more fruit cake?

I usually like a real answer. If i wanted go search, i would have used Google. One questions that ask an opinion, i like the opinion and also like to read why.

I prefer to be the Queen of Fruitcakes.
