My Internet connection is back to normal. We had an interruption over the weekend. Cable company workers were in the neighborhood doing I do not know what and the broke something. It took them several hours but it got fixed.

I have heard and read reports of slow speeds attributed to higher use. I suspect the sites that you are mentioning are receiving a lot of traffic.

It depends on what I'm using. Social media sites seem a bit slower than usual

I have been tempted to check out those sites too, however it may be too early since most do not yet know how these programs will be laid out.

Well if people are not at work or on the freeways then home it is... and cable, netflix and internet usage is up, up and away! 

I haven't been on those sites, but noticed ours was running very slow yesterday in the afternoon.  We are paying good money for their fastest service and it was very slow.  

My internets are fine.  How about sites other than the SBA and IRS?  Like sites that aren't getting much traffic like <insert your least favorite real estate company here>?  If it's all sites, then it's likely an issue with your provider.  Depending on the technology in use, you may have a "shared pipe" in which case increased usage leads to slower connections for all.

If it's just those sites and not others, then it's simply too many people hitting those sites and their systems can't handle the load.

Mine is fine Annette. Perhaps clearing your cache and restarting your computer would help. Hope you get it resolved!

Sorry, couldn't resist, big Larry David fan here. The wifi's doing good though, hope yours picks up, maybe reboot it.   

I haven't had any internet connection issues but, I haven't been to those sites either - they're probably just overloaded right now.

The sites you mention are seeing heavy traffic now. Fortunately the postponement of tax due dates allows more time for decision making. As far as the fed stimulus our state association will email once te application procedures for benefits are established.

It's probably the sites you're visiting. They're all on overload... just like AR often gets. 

I suspect it's just usage-related. Good luck - having slow internet can be sooo frustrating.

YES, because the whole world is home and taxing both the residential WIFI and the relief sites. To be expected.

I have been hearing from our local internet providers that since so many folks are staying at home with the kids, it is putting a huge grab on the bandwidth everywhere.    They said alot of folks are doing gaming and video streaming right now which is not helping the internet at all!

Perhaps a high volume traffic issue and the sites themselves.

It just might be the sites you are visiting that are currently overwhelmed. 

Fine. We don't have kids streaming videos and gaming all day.

Hi Annette - That might not be your internet but the amount of traffic those specific websites are getting. They are the most bombarded websites at the moment. You can also test your internet speed by doing a google search for "internet speed test" and that will tell you how fast your internet is running (relative to the internet speed you pay for).

It is most likely the site is overloaded and not your internet service.

My Internet is fine.  Those sites are crashing due to the number of visitors and hits - heavy traffic loads!

My thought it is because there is so many people home and on it.

Consensus seems to be it is not your internet, it is everyone's internet being used at the same time.
