Basic fourth grade math should be quite sufficient for most tasks.  As I have responded(repeatedly) my copy of Jethro Bodine's Math for Dummies book with answer guide has come in quite handy.  By the way, no offense to dummies or to Utah School of Real Estate students.

The only math I used consistently besides calculating commissions was Square footage/acreage of a lot or piece of property.

I don't do lending numbers.  I leave that to lenders.  I verify the CD numbers with the contract and MLS.

Compare your estimated monthly payments and cash requirements with the actual figures at settlement to test your accuracy.
