You have been doing it wrong?  This is exactly how I have always washed my hands, haha.  I guess I was taught well.

The tops of my hands are red and raw from washing my hands. I no longer have any fingerprints.  

I learned how to wash my hands about the same time I learned to walk. I just do it for a full 20 seconds now.

Glad to know that I still wash my hands correctly Peter! Lessons learned as a child still remain.

My eye doctor called me out about seven years ago.  She asked me to wash my hands in front of her.  I did.  Then she showed me that I wasn't getting my fingertips, which was leading to my contact lenses having a constant film.  Fingertips are often missed, no matter how long someone lathers.

Yes, who knew! I hate all the songs they say you have to sing in your head too.

I worked in the operating room for years so, hand-washing is second nature to me! You would be shocked at how FEW people ever knew how to wash their hands prior to this.

If nothing else, I think we'll decrease the number of flu cases, at least by half, from here forward! Well, that is is people actually remember what they learned and continue to practice proper hand hygiene!!

Wash hands and arms and then rinse thoroughly and then wash your face.

 Standard men's room procedure:  Wash hands, then hold hands under air dryer, then finish drying hands by wiping hands on pants.  

Mom taught me that in 1970, except the 20 second rule, mom beat the CDC to it by 50 years. Thanks Mom.

OK sarcasm aside, thank you for the helpful post; good info not to be taken for granted. Mom also taught me to be polite.

I wash my hands for about two minutes and use a scrub brush that stays in peroxide.  Did this for the 18 months my wife had cancer, still doing it.

Most of us would fail the recommended procedure.

My hands have never been so dry. Moisturizing lotion disappears on contact.

That's how I do it. I learned to do it that way a long time ago.
