and the sky over LA is BLUE for the first time in forever! The Earth just got a deep breath. This made me cry.

We are learning how flexible we are, how adaptable. How interconnected.

The world is learning that the individual needs the world and the world needs the individuals...we're all connected and we all need to work together to end this. Those that ignore the efforts and sacrifices needed, will be remembered in a negative way and suffer.

Many are becoming more educated and prioritized with their goals &  in their lives, the home university is open for business.

Community-wise I'm seeing many great efforts and stories. I'm participating in my own version of meals on wheels for my seniors in my database that do not drive.

I'm sure our industry is getting an overdue enema 👏 ; cleansing out many of the Summer Soldiers so we Winter Patriots may once again prevail and lead the economy out of the virus as we led the market out The Crash.

Personally my hiking is waaaay up, healthy habits on high consciousness with hygiene, supplements & food choices,  my marriage ❤ is thriving in it, my business goals that pivoted are loving it too. 

History may be a place where lessons are shown and the truth revealed.  

In RE , I’m predicting a thinning of the herd

I'm so ticked - I had a long answer with lots of thoughts right when you posted this and it disappeared! 

I think my favorite one is that during these times, people will be looking for hope in online church, temple & synagogue services. After a month (or longer) of getting back to their faith, perhaps this will contribute to making the world a better place.

And...

Less commute time = More family time 

There is actually some bi-partisan cooperation happening which in the case of this virus is a good thing.... if the pork barrel spending doesn't kill us Debbie Gartner 

Agree with the substance of the many comments. I would like to add that I'm encouraging others to consider building up a residual or "residual like" income to help in situations like this...it's the best type of income and there are multiple ways of achieving it. Great to know that you have achieved this through your flooring website!

The good thing...sometimes it takes a bad situation to fortify ones financial health going forward.

Communities pull tighter, families too. It pulls back the astanged members and forgiveness happens. You rethink life as you knew it. We are all wired for WFH anyway so pull back behind the sneeze guard and serve up the real estate property creatively at the listing bar. If you were not using real video, I bet you start. Helps reduce the risks. Cheap gas, even lower interest rates. Covid19 pandemic helps make rural areas look a heck of a lot healthier when you live in a city like 8 out of 10 people do Debbie Gartner . Or did.

I am so proud of our industry for being so positive. We are moving forward virtually. Education and real estate do not stop. We adapt. 

There are so many ways REALTORS are helping each other our clients and the public.

I have to say Candice A. Donofrio gave you one of the best answers Fresh air not only over LA but over a lot of the world.

It may bring families closer, people closer to God, but at the very least causing all to reevaluate what is in their life and important to them.  It is a gift to many families to spend time together and reconnect.  We seem to think we are invinceable, but this will clearly show many we are not.  

Oddly enough,  in the 20th year of each century, we have been hit with a similar situation (cholera, Black Plague, etc.) and yet we ignore history....it is destined to repeat itself.

Since I am not going out, my car's gas tank remains nearly full. Both cars, in fact. I am saving on gas in the highest prices in the nation for gas.

Oh my gosh - it could fill a book.  The broad stroke benefits for many if they are willing to see them and the silver lining for us individually. 

Less pollution; fewer traffic deaths; just heard there were fewer fatalities due to tornadoes as there was social distancing; grater creativity in many areas, more sense of communitty in some places and so on.

Finally getting a few Luddites to try out teleconferencing.

Have a very positive week at home.

Lots of good has revealed itself already and some long term benefits are yet to be revealed. 

That's not to reduce the seriousness of the downsides but right now it's necessary to figure out how to use this time to our advantage for the short and long term.

Despite eating more, I'm eating more healthy and lost four pounds. Talking with old friends, broke in hiking boots I bought six months ago for a trip (cancelled but got it postponed free for a year) Business is about the same, excepting 100% from home which is now calming to a routine. Less spent on gas, no driving. Did I tell you all how grateful I am for your camaraderie and love?  I love you all!

Hi Debbie- people will (hopefully) be better at washing their hands with soap and water.

I may be the "downer" but right now pretty depressed. All my listings that did not pull off the market are now sold. So that is good but nothing left to sell. A rainy Monday follows a rainy Sunday which has me gloomy. I do not like the unknown and this is all a big unknown. I an one that usually does not sit still. I like being out and about. Meeting people and saying hello. SO this is a big change. 

I would say that we now know that this can happen again.

Mr. Rodgers used to say to "look for the helpers" in times of stress, and we're blessed by many helpers - medical staff, truck drivers, ShopRite clerks, uber drivers, delivery staff, companies stopping production and shifting to masks and respirators, tons of free access to educational platforms. Not to mention the documented decrease in air and noise pollution.

Moving forward, we can expect a more tech savvy and more "focused on the essentials" working class.

Families are closer, seeking God more than ever. Faithfulness, caring, being more compassionate. It will be interesting as to how many agents remain in the business that some believe to be non essential.
