I would need to see what you have mentioned and what you like to see or not see.  

Is the sheet password locked?  

How do you have those cells connected between the sheets?

do you have a formula or is it just a copy and paste situation?

I admit I become a little frightened each time I hear mention of a "geek" and anything having to do with "pull down".  It seems like a set up for a seltzer bottle incident/punchline.

I used DuckDuckGo with a search term of "excel reference a comment".  The above link was the first result.  You can replicate the search for other options.

I am a Geek of many varieties.  Like others have stated, I would need to see the worksheet.

I'm definitely a "Geek" Annette Lawrence , Palm Harbor, FL 727-420-4041 but I'm a hardware geek and not a program geek. PLUS I never figured out any spreadsheet program. Good luck with this one.

Not good enough to help you here with Excel. I'm allergic to it & break out in a rash everytime I have to use it.

Hard to say without seeing it, I do use Excel daily, but I'm not clear based on your description how to help. Sorry.

I don't try to re-invent the wheel, our MLS provides all that info for us, so I don't have to create spread sheet, I just download the pre-made up to date ones.

So, I have a budget spreadsheet that I used (month-to-month) and I use formula to use numbers/values from previous month's sheet. 

Click on add formula and go to sheet 1 or sheet 2 and click on the box. The value will transfer to the new sheet.
