Between the bought and paid for dossier and the crimeless trial we have going on now, the only changes I see will be a few Democrats losing their seats and a few fewer seats for California after the next census.

The global economy will collapse at some point.  Maybe in 4 years, maybe in 10, it's hard to tell.  Certainly will be quicker if Sanders is elected.  His policy proposals will cost more than our GDP.

I think Brexit will breathe some much needed life support into the global economy, and the countries that are getting ready to follow Brittain out of the catastrophe that is the EU will help as well.

The sooner we get rid of the globalist agenda, the better off we'll be.

Many things can frighten those who can't handle change.  I tend to avoid/ignore such people as much as I can.

I don't live my life by fear. I do watch the markets closely and that's my 2nd love which I don't talk about much. So yes, if we totally shift away from capitalism of course I'll have a game plan. It will be in place in a heartbeat.

Absolutely not in fact from what I have seen over the past 3 years demands a change as it is not working for the public good. This country is so rich that there should be no ghettos, poverty, health-care issues etc. etc. and if all three branches would get to work...we would have a paradise in the USA . The democrats have been exposed. Now, to the peoples business....!

Universal health-care.

Free college education.

Liberal smokables.

2nd amendment right expansion

Voting from prison cells
Canine voting rights.

And real news that is derived from asking 'How do you feel?" and "How important is this to you?"

What could go wrong?

So...it will be business as usual. Dysfunction in DC is our friend. We really don't want the crazies implementing anything.
The stock market and the economy are unrelated. We should know that by now.

Universal healhcare equals many insurance companies going out of business. That will affect the economy.

No, I not fearful at all with a change. A President is not a factor in the stock market and has no control over it in spite of what people say. We are in a business cycle and I think we are in for a turndown maybe this year. Change will happen but not because we have a new president

I got this right 4 years ago and it was an easy call - not as easy today. Candidate Trump had been on CNBC many times in the years prior to the 2016 election and even back then, he made it clear that he was very anti-regulation. An anti-regulation environment leads to a bull market - at least until you see the consequences of eliminating so much regulation- unlikely to be felt in just a 4 year horizon. These types of shifts take time to make it's way through the market. Eventually, it will backfire- though no one can tell you whether that is 5 years or 15 years- but at some point, I believe the changes of the last 3 years will have substantial negative impacts on the market- but those that were investing in the short term will have massively profited.  Also worth noting that 4 years ago- the economy had been growing very slowly but very consistently. That growth spurt was due to continue for at least 4 more years unless something radical occurred to change the trend.  Ignoring all factors in the market today- it wasn't clear whether that growth could continue for another presidential term- regardless of who is in office. Add those factors back- and I see it as a struggle for the equities market to continue to rise.

Going back to the original question- if you have a candidate with a strong regulatory stance- then yes, we could easily see a dramatic negative trend in the market.

Generally, I don't think it matters much who is in the West Wing- but in this case, I have cited specific points why it matters in this case.

I spent 16+ years working for investment banks, hedge funds, and an exchange prior to becoming an agent- so my views are likely quite a bit different than that of most agents.
