sure but a CRM can be a simple piece of paper. You can probably update that a bit with a computer. My company supplies for free.

I believe it is a must. I use Salesforce but I don't recommned it unless you are at a big business phase with people working for you. I normally tell people to start with a bargain system like Realty Juggler at $99 a year. 

There is a thing called a data base. That can be paper or Excel or one's Outlook program. 
Then there is the ability to search that database. The granularity often is related to it value.

A CRM is an application that nurtures the relationship with that database. That means is must have some conduit of communication (e-mail usually) and relevant messages.(library)

Some CRM are augmented with marketing components such as websites and newsletters with intent to generate new contacts. However, the feature agents who see we all LIVE in the future know is needed is 'inbound' marketing. There are only four CRM providers that have this feature.

I have 2 websites. www.JupiterOceanHomes.com is MarketLeader. I pay for pro, so I'm able to see the stats and detailed info. www.TheCopelandTeam.com is an iHouseWeb site. MarketLeader does a great job with detailed stats, and backend technology. However, iHouseWeb performs better in SEO and mobile presentation.

Don't mess with these paid subscriptions. Most are worth the less.  Majority agents do not even bother with websites anymore.  People contact.
