I do sometimes. I like to go to women's conferences at my church, friends churches and larger events. It isn't off the wall, or is it? I get a lot of enrichment from those events. I also like to go to many of the small town festivals and art shows. Other than that, I can't think of other things. If I'm not with my family or selling Real Estate, I like to spend time with my closest friends. We have get togethers with neighbors, game nights, beach weekends, and girls nights. Those are the things that feed my soul.

"Off-the-wall" wouldn't be a description I would likely use. "Too focused" sounds a bit judgmental but I agree that being engaged in diverse activities/well-rounded is an asset in life.

I do attend non-real estate events, but I wouldn't call any of them "off the wall!"

1. I rarely attend real estate related seminars and conventions -- rarely hear anything new at them. Last one I attended was the NAR conference in 2018 and it was a snooze.
2. I never attend such things that are not real estate related. The last one I attended was a guest back in 1994... and it was a huge disappointment.
I'd rather stay home and read a good book. That keeps me sufficiently mentally agile... no one has ever suggested I'm not.

I tend to be less 'off the wall' & more on the ground nowadays. I can tell you some good stories though.
I can't say I have ever attended a real estate seminar. I put in my required continuing education hours every 2 years. I network on social media with other agents. I actively sell properties. My experience comes from time spent in the field, meeting people, adjusting the game plan as I see needed & keeping up to date on developments- but in a timely way.

Annette,
Too much real estate creates uni-dems, what we refer to as one dimensional people, they live, speak and eat real estate...

It has been quite a while since I’ve attended any conference other than real estate related, with the exception of “Word Camp” which keeps me up to date on the WordPress community.
Have never attended anything “off the wall.”
I am looking at “Billionaire Code” that Joe Pryor mentioned.

I do notice that some people have a very myopic view of life. Never try anything new whatsoever so they never bother observing what might be learned.
I remember taking an older friend to bell ringers for the holiday because she had never gone. How she summed it up; I couldn't figure out what they were playing. Didn't like it much.

I enjoy taking my Blue Heeler to the waterfront a couple of times a week. We meet some great people and their dogs. And in late January, I will start meeting with a bunch of people to discuss baseball rules and umpiring mechanics. We are definitely off the wall. The coaches, players, and their parents tell us so every game. And many other descriptive terms too!

I did attend Comic-Con once in 2011. Got to meet and talk with Jason Mewes (Jay of Jay and Silent Bob).
I used to attend the Olympia Bodybuilding and Fitness Expo in Vegas, but it's gone downhill over the last several years and isn't worth the $800 VIP tickets (even if I'm 5 rows from the stage and sitting a couple feet away from Olympia greats, Stalone and "The Rock"). I might go to The Rock's new event in Atlanta though.
Other than that, just some random trainings from InfraGard. Have one in an hour or so on Business Email Compromise.
