I recently bought a new car and when I cleaned out my old car's coin compartment, I found $37 in change! 

Of course, one could question whether the weight of all of those coins impacted my gas mileage! LOL

Very nice!  I had something similar the other day.  Forgot I put a bill in with my coins.  Only for me it was because I had gone to a yogurt store and poured the yogurt before I realized I didn't have my money.  Thankfully, had enough coins that day.  :)  Put a bill in my coins and my phone case just in case!

When I left a job at 25 years old, I put $5000 into a retirement fund and forgot about it.  I changed names three times, moved too many times to count including countries and continents and last year the company managed to track me down and were so delighted to tell me it was now worth over $100,000!  They were more excited than I was as I was a missing piece to their puzzle :)

Pocket change, yes, commission checks, yes! Last year I got 2 checks re-issued by my broker because I never cashed them/deposited them and they were too old anyways. THAT was a nice surprise that I took to the bank right away, lol.

Luckey you!  I always put a stash away and then decide that it isn't hidden well enough, then forget about it.  I once landed in Vegas to find an old purse I brought had quite a stash inside!   I could have been pick pocketed and never knew that money was in there.  ooops!
