I have sent and received thank you notes on occasion over the years but not as a regular plan.  Sometimes I am just thankful it's over.  Finally.

I have received many from all the above, sent many as well and also, with some agents treated to lunch. My best friend of 10 years is a broker at another company; we worked on a short sale for months and were both so chill about it, we celebrated with lunch at closing. And have been doing lunch at least monthly ever since!

Absolutely yes. Many agents help get them deals closed, it's not all me.

I take my escrow team to lunch in fact. They are my friends as much as partners.

The other agent I also give a peer review on a website I can't recall for our industry.

I send emails to fellow people on my side. Do send a recommendation if warranted for the lender.

I think that's out of style now. It's still important but rarely done.

I have sent Thank You Notes, however what I have been doing the past few years is post a nice picture of the parties in a transaction on Facebook and I am always careful to thank the other agent, the Lender, the Closing Agent and Title Company.  I think it's just good business!  And by tagging each of them your reach is tremendous!  People like being recognized and publically appreciated!  And it's just FUN!  Jeff Dowler, CRS

I can count on one hand the listing agents that I thought were good enough for me to bother thanking...

A transaction is only as good as the agent on the other side...if the agent is good, the transaction is smooth.  I find that when a seller is unreasonable, usually there is an agent that is afraid to tell the seller the truth...too many are worried about losing future listings in their farm area.

I've never sent Thank You notes to the other Realtor, Lender or Title Company after a closing.  During communications with each and at the closing I make sure they each know that it was a pleasure doing business with them.  That I hope we can work together again and we each reciprocate in future transactions.  Over the years, I've heard some interesting comments from Realtors regarding other closing transactions with other Realtors.  Unfortunately, they've dealt with Realtors that weren't so pleasant to work with providing some dismal stories.

I don't have an assistant or a team.  I have received a few sender cards marked  www.sendoutcards.com from a home inspector with the sale house picture & Sold sign in yard congratulating another home SOLD and a thank you for referring his inspection company.  A nearby town mortgage company sends closing Thank You cards to Realtors. That same mortgage company had a welcoming sign stand with all our names when we arrived for a closing in their lobby. One of the title companies has a name sign stand like that also.

I Like Michael Jacobs last sentence!  Sometimes I think "whew, how did I get through this?"  Lyn Sims, I agree that so many things we've done over the years are now out of style!  The millennial generation has a different mind set.

I have but it isn't a routine thing I do. I don't think it is a bad idea. I'll send Christmas cards to my lenders, etc. I did have an exception experience recently where my lender worked overtime to get my buyer approved. It was a tough situation. I gave the girls in the office a gift card to the spa for their extra work. I mean, we all have to do a great job and work together. We should all be giving great service. My vendors are on my preferred list for that reason only. Anyhow, I say thank you often, I treat them with respect and do not yell at them. If they do go above and beyond, I'll recognize their efforts.

I have not written any thank you notes but I've sent many a thank you email out to the other agent, the attorney and/or the mortgage person. I want to acknowledge them, I just don't want to write cards out. Agent & mortgage brokers have thanked me back, clients do all the time, clients tend to send handwritten cards & agents & loan officers tend to email.

Jeff ~ I sporadically have sent notes to the other agent over the years if they were good on their side, but not to the other professions.  I should be more consistent with that, as those agents remember that you sent them one.

I haven't gotten any thank you from anyone other than an agent I had just sent one to.
