There are many things I am happy not to follow these days.  Need I begin?

My experience working with Ocwen was terrible. I must have called them for 2 months straight telling them to winterize a property I had listed & they gave me the runaround til one day the pipes burst from the cold. 

I suspect that they treat all of their REOs with neglect.

I quit doing distressed sales about 5 years or so ago. Glad I did. BTW Ocwen was horrible to work with.....horrible. Somehow it doesn't surprise me that they are handling different neighborhoods differently.  Shaking my head.....

We have very little reo property in my area.

Altisource handles REOs in our part of Cali as well.  Have always been fairly well maintained.  Have not heard of this lawsuit.  No interest in following it as it does not pertain to me.

I have done work for all 3 and they dont care if it is a luxury area or downtown, they didnt really maintain anything. It was not one over the other. It was none. AND such a shame because i manage a lot of my reo listings, manage trash out, repairs and let them know what is needed and what is not, they need to listen and STOP using national preservation companies that lead to the issues.

Not following this action Caroline. It's not surprising though. Lenders have discriminated for decades. Companies of my former boss (W Buffet) have been fined for discrimination on more than one accassion in the past few years. Makes me cringe. 

No but it's nice to know that things are finally catching up to them. In some neighborhoods because of the low property costs, they decided that nothing needed to be done & then blight happens. This is in the city of Chicago. In the burbs where I am, the towns are after them 24/7.

There was a time when we had many REOs in my market. Some were not kept up and trashed-out properly.  

So many issues here that are beyond the scope of this forum. Sometimes municipalities force the lenders hand to walk away!

yes and frankly I think it's BS.  The bank didn't creat the eye sore.  That was done by the people who didn't pay and left them that way.

I have not followed this, but I definitely need to check it out.  Then again, I may take my friend Michael Jacobs advice and choose not to follow, haha.

No. Results are all I check in briefly on, not the drama of the process...not my job, not how I get paid.

This is a BS lawsuit! My experience with REO property tells me banks do little to keep up any of them! A property has to be very high 6 figures before they even take notice. Your pics don't surprise me at all. Banks don't spend a dime to improve a REO. All they care about is plumbing, electrical, and a hole in the roof. They look at spending on REO property as throwing good money after bad
