All three, it starts with a view, then another, and another, eventually a comment, then a conversation, and if all goes well a signup.

The problem with forums and social media is it has a limited reach and may even be too much of an echo chamber at times (depending on the makeup of the group).

As to part two, Subscribers/signups would be the most validation.

I run my business as a boutique.  It is all about high tough not high volume. The connections I make with people drive my business. The way I generate business does not fit the profile you ask about.

I would turn to the venture capital market which seems enamored about financing all of the latest, greatest real estate ideas.

Your project sort of makes me want to run around in circles with a short fuse ona lit stick of dynamite.    BOOM!  Anyone's guess!

Is this an idea for software? Build an MVP (minimally viable product)  and try to find people willing to test it out in 'beta format' to validate the idea. If they find value in it, ask them how much they would pay for the use of the software. This is a way to find product/market fit.

I have found that social media is NOT the place to validate ideas. Everyone is an expert and unless someone is willing to fork over their hard earned cash for your idea, you have no way to differentiate the good from the bad. Money talks!

Another thing - Ideas are worthless. Yes, none are special, and many are just copied versions of something else. Execution, usability, and specificity are important in turning an idea into a product. Does it solve a common problem, do enough people have that problem, and is it a problem that is not already solved by someone else?

Without giving away too much, what (in general terms) is the idea for? Is it software, a sales process, new way to join information together?
