Since the compensation and negotiating strategies are addressed long before the first house is seen, the most frequently asked question by a buyer who has passed the entrance exam is, "Is there an HOA?"

It is an even split regarding whether the response to the question is positive or negative. Some love them, others would rather take a fork in the forehead.
