It seems like some marketing person has a checklist of sorts that makes these solicitations become more common. They seem to occur in waves. Almost the same script. 

Jeff Dowler, CRS this question was asked fairly recently and I was really surprised by the whole thing. It doesn't surprise me that they are doing this as I think these comanies are going the way of VHS rental stores. With home improvement stores selling good security products and on line stores like www.SimpliSafe.com who needs these over priced companies?

ADT is apparently paying someone to access the buyer agent information on closings in our market.  Otherwise there's no public information availability for them to have the info.

And if they're willing to do shady things to get my contact, there's no way I'm helping them with their business.  And I definitely don't want any referral fees.

No, but I suspect the listing agent in my current home sold my info to one of these, I was plagued by those companies from the day I moved in, had to get Nomorobo to stop them.

Yes, I have been getting them for years.  I too, do not give out the buyers info.

Yes for years now actually. I'm not sure how they find out the listing or selling agents though. 

Yes.  I usually get three or four ADT reps contacting me everytime a home sells (regardless of whom I represent).  It's always fun when they say "our records show there is an existing system in place" and you know that to be 100% bullshit.

I've blocked enough of their numbers that they've stopped calling.  I have their emails set to go to spam as well.

Yes, I get them every time a close a buyer deal. Actually getting tired of hearing from them. 

Yes, and i get 5 emails from the same company ADT but from different employees all offering different deals

Nope. Seems like the security companies ( if legit) could just contact the new owners directly.

All the time, Jeff Dowler, CRS and they are always from ADT.  I don't give them my client's contact.

Someone on Q&A mentioned that they were doing that.  And my stance, like yours, it is not happening.  I recently bought something from Pottery Barn on line, they spread my email to every company that is under the same parent.  I had to unsuscribe to all twice and twice to Pottery Barn...A

No I have not had this happen.

Haven't had that yet! If they are reaching out via email just filter them to spam and be done.

Not at all. Like termite inspectors, any security system companies would go broke in small rural area where doors are not locked ... keys are left in cars.

Yes I have. Really annoying and kind of shady business if you ask me. 

ADT is the one. After every closing I am contacted the next day.  Sometimes by more than one representative.

Yes! Of course I'm not going to share my clients contact info nor accept a referral as it isn't allowed. I'm happy to share the company's info but, they call too much.

It has been quite a while. I have had such solicitations. I am not a lead generation company.

Jeff ~ It happens on a regular basis, but I can't remember if it is just ADT or includes other vendors.  No matter who it is, they aren't getting any client information.

I know I've gotten bombarded by ADT at times. The one client who accepted their service and special offer was disappointed with the install and the final bill was radically higher than the estimate. He had them remove the equipment right after the install. I don't accept their calls or offers any longer.

If a "human" calls I can put a stop to it and thus far security companies have humans calling.  But after I explain to them in polite, but specific terms that I'm not emailing my clients their info or giving my clients information to them they don't call.  One local company did ask if he could leave some brochures at my office.  I said yes and I include one in my closing package. I certainly get people trying to get business, but there is a right way and wrong way.  A car dealership lost my business last week because I said "you may text or email, but DO NOT call me"  They called 20 minutes after I walked out the door. Buh bye.

Yes, for years ADT pounces on all my closings.

I get that too Jeff.  I've never been offered $$$ but the answer is always the same.  No deal. 

Yes and I simply tell them the sellers already chose a provider.
