We recently changed from InnoVia(Marketlinx) to Matrix so I'm not 100% it's the same, but as I mentioned in the other thread I served on MLS board 2 years, and most didn't know that when you hit the report button it not only pings the MLS, but the offending agent, broker and then if they scroll down to the very bottom of the email they'll see who it was from.
So if I've got an issue, I will email the MLS number directly to the MLS CEO and tell them to check it out.

Of course the sender can be revealed, but that would be another ethical infraction, wouldn't it? If I were to report something, it would be serious and I wouldn't mind anyone knowing that I reported it.

I figured as much.  Half the time I follow-up the complaint with an email anyways, so it doesn't bother me as much.  I report people pretty regularly to the MLS, the DRE and bulk email providers.  I include my name because I like the follow-up.

If it warrants reporting I would do it despite the potential for it not being anonymous. Our "report a violation" button on the MLS is more for errors in pricing (listing a 1000 SF home for 350,000,000 not 350,000), stating a home is vacant in the public remarks, etc. Formal complaints would likely not be anonymous.
