The perfect day would be wake up, walk to beach, lay down and enjoy the sites, sounds and smells. In Real estate though, my perfect day gives me an hour at the beginning of the day, no calls, no visitors, just taking care of anything that needs to be done and the day ahead laid out. My perfect day included getting a new listing under contract. Getting a pending sale to close and listing a new home at the end of the day. In real estate it is the things you can not control that can make a day go bad. Inspections, appraisals or underwriter messing with a similar approval. Dont dwell on the bad, ride the good and always think positive and every day can be a good day

There is no perfect schedule as there will be many things that you will have to adapt to throughout the day

Oh, Real Estate? Perfect day is first thing in the morning a call comes in to write on something, I get it submitted and by the end of the day it's accepted. Lather rinse repeat!

The last perfect day for me was when I was fed, had a change of diapers and put to bed for 12 hours!

I don't look for "perfect" and that makes me feel good.

I don't... every day is different and that's what keeps this work interesting. But I do follow certain disciplines. I start very early and until 8:30am that's my quiet time so unless I'm negotiating, I don't take phone calls. Again, unless I'm negotiating my day is done (no phones, no computers) by between 6:30-7:00pm because by then I've put in a13 hour day.

When Ron started in commercial real estate, I would ask him what his day would be like.  His answer was I make it up each day.  So when I joined him, I followed suit, we made it up together.  We started with the attitude that each day is perfect and took it from there.  We listed, we sold, we farmed, we took time and days out all part of the plan.  Each day is still perfect.  A

Yes I do. However the moment I type it onto the screen it becomes imperfect.

So, I must advise, a really good start to a day is to remind oneself of those things for which they are truly grateful; for those things they received with unmerited favor.

From such awareness comes  enduring happiness. Real estate, we must remind ourselves, is merely a vessel.

I don't expect or look for perfect and that way I am never disappointed.

Wake up. Have a glass of water 8 to 10 oz.  Go for a walk or some other out door exercise (getting space & fresh air is as beneficial as working the body physically - get both). Have a good breakfast while reading or watching something inspirational - set the goals for the day and go get'm done.

Getting good rest, eating smart, exercise and the release of ones skills bank so that it may join-in the Harvesting abundance are the core principals. The flow of give & take as well as service and charity (love) is no myth in this life

Four new listings taken and put online, four successful real estate closings... but your day that you plan can suddenly become run by a whole different script. There are people involved, not just empty houses and acreage of dirt we run our day around in service providing. And your day extends into your night. Like a farmer, by Tuesday noon you have worked 40 hours if you are full throttle involved and listing more, selling more than your average bear wearing the "R". 

A 'Perfect' day is a day filled with good health, precious people and memorabe moments!

I'm going to have to agree with Scott Godzyk on the perfect day.  Work is not involved.  Good times, good food and good libations are though.

I have a schedule on an excel spreadsheet.  It is not the creating of the perfect day that is a challenge. It is sticking to it that presents challenges. My perfect day and your perfect day would likely look vastly different. 

My perfect day schedule would be: get up, eat, nap, eat, nap, eat, go to bed.

every day MUST begin with a workout at the gym.... 5:00am during the week.... the rest of my day is a combination of online and offline marketing plus family....

Boy, this topic can certainly make one's imagination run wild. All this fantasizing is messing up my schedule.

There is no such thing as a perfect day schedule in my view.  

Peter, just block time for your specific tasks - set time that you will prospect (and nothing else) each day, time for listing appoitments, time for showings, time for networking, time for paperwork. You also have to block personal/home time. 

You're more effective/efficient if you do it this way. Yes, Closing times are often out of our control but, when you get those 'off' times scheduled, rearrange your blocked time to accommodate them. It works wonders, using a blocked calendar!

In the day when I was active, I prospected in the morning until 11, returned calls until 12 and then let the day fall into place. Not perfeect but worked for me!
