I believe Mr/Ms Anonymous has previously asked this question -- I also understand that they are selling the "secret sauce" and all the examination questions too.

Sophia, I looked at your profile and it states "Training to reactivate my real estate license". Since you had to be previously licensed to reactivate, you should know the answer to this question.

In the event you don't or this is an online school requirement, Maria Sapio and Annette Lawrence , Palm Harbor, FL 727-420-4041 gave you all the info you need...nothing I can add to their comments.

Maria Sapio gave you a great response!

Remember, you don't 'work' for a broker - they work for YOU! Whatever is important to you is what you look for in a broker.

Follow Maria Sapio and Diana Zaccaro - I would think after all these years the school would amend the question .... a broker to work FOR?  As Debe Maxwell, CRS points out ... we do not work for a broker ... unless perhaps it is an administrative role not as a licensed agent.

Have them answer these questions and then make you decision:

1. Do you provide formal training to agents?
2. Is there a program where new agents are mentored by top producers?
3. Are any of my training or class expenses eligible for reimbursement?

5. Is there a bonus program?
6. What costs am I required to cover?
7. Am I required to have additional auto insurance?
8. Where do you advertise and who pays for it?
9. Are my desired farm areas already taken by other agents in the company?
10. Will I receive a copy of company policies to review?
11. What is the dress code for the office?
12. How many agents are in the company?
13. What is the average gross volume of your agents?
14. What commission does the company typically charge? Am I allowed to offer a lower rate?
15. What is your policy on referrals within the company and to outside agents?
16. Is there any clerical or support assistance available through the company?
17. Do you have regular meetings?
18. Is the environment team-based or individual?
19. Do you handle commercial listings or property management?
20. How many listings does the office typically have?

Sophia, there will be coming a long list of attributes and qualities that will prove beneficial to a new agent. Unfortunately you will be unable to measure any of those qualities while seated across the desk from a broker. All you really can do is choose which sweet words you will believe.

Would not a better approach be, when making such an important business decision, to go with the FACTS. Facts are objective, not subjective, and provides the new business owner a level of confidence that fabric exists to create a successful real estate business. This omission of discipline my be contributing to the 90% failure of new agents to see their 2nd year anniversary.

There are only two question to ask and from the response you can know all things relevant about that real estate broker. Or you can accept my welcome to the world of real estate deceptive practices.

Depends on what stage of your career you're in.

At first, a broker with a strong training and mentorship program is important. After that, a broker with a good commission split and a strong community presence is important.

Once you obtain your license you will be ready to really learn to be a real estate agent. You need to find a broker who will provide you with training and guidance to be successful. A broker who offers a mentor to help you in your quest for success is a plus.
