You mean shattering faulty perceptions?

I posted in the peeps group a couple of days ago a text I got from a guy who thought that a transaction broker would not get a commission.

People have all kinds of weird ideas about how this works.

Yesterday I picked up a delightful new client. He said words that I told him warmed my heart.

The words were "please speak to me as if I were a two year old, because I don't know anything about the process."

I told him I'd have him up to 12 years old in minutes! He runs a thriving company BTW.

Perception is rarely reality ...I think as we peek in the looking glass of any profession, we all might be guilty of misunderstanding exactly what occurs on a moment-to-moment basis.  Does a surgeon really spend every moment in an operating room?  The intricacies of each profession are far and wide -

Most often it is sellers wanting to over price homes despite hard evidence. There is always an agent willing to take that listing, it does not sell and 6 months to a year i see them again on the expired list. Then they are willing to list at what i told them a year before.

Before we even talk about a listing price we go through current comparables of sold in the last 6 months and current listings. I will often go through current listings (physically) if they are within 6 blocks of the subject. If he/she still baulks at the suggested listing price my 1st approach to this is to ask them if they complain about the City Tax Assessors assessed value of their home (everyone does but when it comes to time to sell they all think it's worth more). unfortunately, people do not understand what we do behind the scenes.... if an agent is well-versed with listing/selling property, that agent makes the process look easy!!!  so what we do is interpreted as an easy business that garners big bucks!!!!!!!

yeah so? This sounds like the basic hard nosed seller that I run into at least once a year. They really don't want to sell but they intend on running the program & just thinking that they are turning over control.

I also don't believe they sit back & ponder what you've written. I think the 'everyone is out to screw me' mentality kicks in.
