You can have a holiday party. One year, I sent out a letter thanking people for their business and offering them a 1/2% commission discount if they listed their home with me during the coming year and to anyone they referred in the year; this generated quite a bit of activity. I always send out a new year's card and a thanksgiving day card to my data base... another opportunity to touch them and thank them and wish them well.

I know agents who have had client appreciation parties with great success. Around here Summer seemed to be the optimal time & he did it at his pool. Nothing really beats being the host of a great event & that face to face you'll get. I think if a party is too big of an undertaking then any nice gesture would be appreciated, especially around that time of the year. 

One of my friends bakes pies and delivers them to past clients. They are very well received.

One of our clients owns a lovely building with a large space.  She has the newest vintner (wine country) and the local restaurants pair food and wine and invites her clients.  It is a big success for her.

Our Florida client has a Champagne tasting party...it all depends on the market and what people in your area will appreciate.  A

Party, party, party! I know that Thomas J. Nelson is successful with his client appreciation gatherings, there are others who have had great success as well with client appreciation parties.

I have found appreciation parties during the Holidays creates to much competition for their calendar.

So I schedule appreciation events in Feb and Oct, one more gritty than the other.  Since these are annual events, invitees know what to expect and do come prepared. It's a celebration of new beginnings and sharing the transformation with those they hold dear.

A decent gift given with right motives hits the mark. I have always had excellent results with Pearls for the Soul book of over 800 positive sayings. Its a gift people cherish & of course causes them to think of the gift-giver too

Gene, we volunteer together with our sphere - the holidays are all about giving and we focus on that.

We show them we not only care about them but, we share their charitable passions - typically either active military or animal rescue. It's a huge success each and every year!

I do not restrict doing special things to the holiday season nor do I do special things for the express purpose of generating referrals. 

Do Good Things. Do the Right Thing each and every day and your business will grow and the referrals will flow. 

Authentic gratitude and appreciation is the key for me.

I hand deliver a gift bag of wonderful goodies so I maintain face to face contact with a select group of my clients.  They are always remembered and very much appreciated.

What works for me but not other is, I give out a wall calendar and have a letter in the inside address to them and thanking them for the past deal and also that I treat referrals the way I treated them. It gets referrals

I have client appreciation parties - some with clients from the current year, and others that have been wonderful referral sources over the years.

I don't do anyting special but maybe a phone call
