We can't have them here (Mohave Co, AZ), which doesn't stop the local idiots, causes fires and keeps the Sheriffs busy.

But just down the road in NV are spectacular fireworks displays right on the river at the Avi Resort, we see and enjoy from my back patio.
The Zambelli Family does them Memorial, Fourth of July, Labor Day, New Year's.

Mrs. Luna has to be puppy drugged so she won't freak out & try to bury herself underneath the throw rugs in the bathrooms (that's how close and loud). ūüėĘ

They are legal in CT. Legal fireworks aren't as loud & don't shoot as high as the unsanctioned ones but they're fun regardless!

Oh yes, Tim! In fact, being right on the state line of one highly strict state (NC) and one far more relaxed state (SC), we watch SC fireworks used throughout the Charlotte (NC)  area each and every 4th of July!

NC residents simply travel across the line (a few minutes' drive) and buy them by the trunkloads!

As difficult as it is to believe,  the private purchase of safe/sane fireworks are allowed in some of our cities. Illegal/unauthorized fireworks are used as well---even when I was a child I thought the idea/ concept of any fireworks was a waste of money. There are numerous public displays as well.  Hopefully I will be home before nightfall.

We are in a high fire danger area and there are local bans in effect.  We have a local community fireworks show and entertainment down by the river, so everyone can enjoy fireworks safely.  Unfortunately, I will be out of town.

They're legal where we are. Many subdivisions near us have "no fireworks" signs, but interestingly, they can't really do much about anyone who breaks those rules. Since they're not illegal, if someone is willing to pay the potential HOA fine for breaking the HOA rules, there's nothing anyone can really do to stop them.

That said, I have a 17 year old who hates July 4th and dreads it every year because self displays are typical here. She's not a fan of fireworks and never has been since she was little.

Out here in Ventura County the only place you can use the non "Safe and Sane" ones is in Fillmore/Piru, but that may change.  That doesn't stop people from shooting them off in Thousand Oaks for days and weeks before and after and all throughout the night though.  Some of the illegal ones were pretty good and better than parts of the professional show!

It's funny because my county does not allow fireworks to be sold like you would purchase at a fireworks store. We have the regular packs at the grocery come July, but they are not the "illegal" kind you have to drive across the river or adjacent counties to purchase. Due to an accident as a minor, I am not a big fan of fireworks anymore.

TOTAL BUZZ KILL HERE.

I deplore fireworks.  It's hard of pets and all wildlife.  The money spent on fireworks would be better spent on Veterans.

There are so many stupid people that get them illegally and the clowns set them off too close to homes.  I dread what's coming.  My neighbors are already setting them off.

Tim, our fireworks laws are rather absurd!  In order to buy the out of state (explosive and dangerous) pyrotechnics you have to sign and affirm that you will only shoot them off in designated safe areas during certain hours.

WHAT A JOKE!!!!

Sure.  Perfectly legal to buy them in Florida if you sign a waiver saying it's for agricultural use.  And, then mostly illegal to use them.

We are celebrating the First American Revolution / 4th of July, which was AGAINST government regulation.  We are going to blow up the sky with mortars, bottle rockets, Roman candles, whistlers, Dixie cannons, the whole show.

We use common sense, we don't burn down the forest, or blow off our fingers, but we will not pay attention to efforts by the Government to take away our freedom.
