I have not kept up with the Canon news.  As far as my own photography I use a digital camera and I use my cell phone- - -it depends on the situation.  For property listings I hire a professional photographer.

I remember something about FUJI on this. I still have my film camera & don't really  know why. I've always used digital & was first when it came out. It took a while to get used too. 

I don't use my phone & my photos look great. Just hired a company that does HD. I'm happy with it.  Virtuance.com

My husband bought a gorgeous Nikon setup two months before he died. It's in the box and I can't decide whether I want to open it up and use it, gift it to someone, donate it or sell it. It was expensive.
My phone takes great pictures but I'm in the habit of using a professional lately. They're just better than I am. Photography is not my forte.
PS. Continually going through stuff, I found 12 film cameras stashed. I also have film in my freezer. LOL if anybody needs anything just let me know, I got it!

I didn't know there were film cameras still around!    ^_~

We use a Nikon D-5200 and love it!!!  

I still carry around our Sony Mavica in my truck for some spur of the moment pics as it still takes great pictures!

I have a digital camera, use my phone & sometimes hire a photographer.  I love my digital camera, but like doing videos with my cell phone.  If I think I cannot capture the shot well enough, then I will hire someone.

I have a few 35mm cameras that remain usable with two Canons in the mix. Current camera of choice is a digital FUJI FinePix with wide angle including macro, zoom (both Optical & Digital) plus HD video capability. Phone cams are handy but I rarely use it for photography.

I saw that. Canon has mirroless models available now. There are still people using film cameras, but I think many people have switched to mirrorless. I'm currently using a Sony A73 with a Sony 24-105 G lens. I use a film camera for artistic images, and shopping for video that does 4K that isn't ten grand if anyone has suggestions for low light

I love photography and use all 3 methods - professionals for business and the others for fun. I haven't had a camera with film for years though. I can see why they stopped production of the film camera - digital is so much easier!

As for quality - I'll take the professional shots over mine any day of the week! As much as I love photography, mine just don't measure up!

I did not know that, Fred. I don't own a camera and haven't for years except what comes with my Samsung Galaxies... and I use it under duress and often forget I have a camera in my phone. For listings, I always go the professional route and if you ever saw my pictures you'd know why.

I still have a lot of negatives, but have not used a film camera in decades. Even some years ago had a hard time finding specific film for my kids' photography classes in high school.

I like Fuji and Sony for still mirror less and video cameras. The cellphone, Galaxy note has an amazing camera but you need to use the other stabilizers that go with it so bring in the heavy artillery to do the imagery best. Used to have film but long long time and in the beginning the black and white Polaroids were the click, wait, peel, apply sealer for the local newspaper.

I heard the news. Nikon still sells a film camera. I have a Cannon digital, a compact digital camera and, or course, my phone. All for personal use.

For real estate photos, in our highly competitive market, professional photography is the only way to go.
