I have sent both and I find that consistency in delivery is the most important factor.

standard size postcard does best because they're easy to throw in a drawer and keep until it's time to use them.... the team members have had listing appointments with a dozen cards spread out on the table!!
the large cards are just too big to store.... they're more expensive to buy and mail....

I haven't done anything other than super jumbo double color glossy for over 10 years.
My first broker was a 'make and cut your own and label and mail yourself' type and I know when I got those cards I never was impressed and they promptly went into the trash.
My postcards ALWAYS get me business, usually listings. So I ain't fixing what ain't broke.

I have not run such a test. My preference, as either sender or receiver, is the trade-size card with large print.

Yes, ages ago. 5.5x8.5 which is a 1/2 sheet works much better than a 4x6 which was the test at the time.

Barbara Todaro is the best person for this advises. I have send both and I agree regular is more manageable and gets tucked away with the other mails. While jumbo pops out and gets easily thrown away in the trash.

I always send out the jumbo-sized, high-gloss cards - I order the best quality and have for years - and send them out consistently. I don't scrimp on marketing - ever!

Once your brand is recognized a B & W 3x5 postcard is all you'll need. You'll need a strong single message with each mailing to get there but the return is immeasurable when you're consistent.

A/B testing NOT done.
The size of postcard is directly related to the size needed to convey the message. More space means more blazing bullets, one of which may get past the owners RAS.
