  Zillow has ambitions that go way beyond the Zestimate and the listing site.

  We can only keep doing what we do, and let Zillow steamroll on.

Heck, they sell our leads to other agents (in multiples for each lead), they may as well compete with those same agents as well. 

They are watching too much TV where it looks easy and safe.

Sam we have many of these flip and sell companies in Phoenix and they seem to be popping up quickly. I just had a discussion on this very issue in a CE class I taught this week. Very interesting.

I don't think about Z.... I'm not a fan.... I do my own thing....

That could be a problem for a few people I know.

I don't see this risky capital intensive business model disrupting the traditional brokerage business. JMO

I appreciate being aware of this but can't see how it effects me at this moment. 

They will have a hard time buying flip homes here. They move super quick and are in multiple offers every time. Many times it is based on who you know.

Jay Thompson generally has some words of wisdom about things like this, wonder what he will add here.

I saw this article yesterday. They are saying they will use premier agents to buy and sell the homes they are purchasing and selling, that they aren't becoming a broker themselves. -K

One of their ideas......and it is not a bad idea, but we'll see if they are going to keep it. 

Z is going to be a painting contractor, a drywall patcher, and hide meth lab evidence next in order to sell these houses fast for big profits. Will Z be hosting seminars on Investing? Will Z be doing termite and home inspections? Probably yes

This is a small part of the real estate market. Sellers who are willing to take less for their house because it is quick, easy and they get fast cash deserve the deal that they get. Zillow, and the rest of the ibuyer type outfits cannot buy unless the make money on the resale. Sure, there are always going to be special situations just like there were foreclosures and short sale event before the recession brought them to national attention. “Normal” sellers with “normal” needs will not use these services.

Just saw CEO interviewed on CNBC.  Zillow is taking Realtors money (providing service?) and then going to compete directly and disguise that as a service to the market.

Their CEO and team is on the move going after a piece of the multi-trillion dollar Real Estate pie...everyone should go after their own slice or crumbs

Yep, I saw the news from Inman on this. Zillow is going to do what they want but I don't see this impacting my business.

Zillow will not impact my business with its flip model.

Everyone just pay attention and stop helping Zillow to destroy the profession and also harm the perception of professionals in real estate. Most consumers think Zillow is in the REAL ESTATE profession

They may eat up the bank owned and distressed sales, hopfully an owner ccupie din their right mind wont fall for selling their home at half price becuase they say its cash. Last I wonder how muct those so called hand picked agents have to pay to be selected? Nothing is free with Z

Sam Shueh - One in power thinks anything can be done!

This is the first time I have felt like Zillow has made a big mistake.

I believe that things may not be as rosy as they thought they would be and that is part of why they are branching out

What the company does is none of my business. Greed leads the way and stupidity follows! 

I don't give a hoo-ha what Zillow does. Flipping is not part of my business model in any event. Zillow has not affected my business yet and I'm not concerned that they will much in the future either.

It just never ends!

Nothing surprised me anymore when it comes to Zillow Sam Shueh.

There was the demise of many flippers with the bubble last time...maybe this one will annihilate the Z this time around.

Wonder if they will be willing to pay a property owner the Zestimate ? That could come back to bite them in some cases.
