No, they can only act as 'secretaries' - make appointments and take messages. Having licensed assistants makes a world of difference - worth every penny!

Not in our state! My daughter used to work as the weekend secretary and she couldn’t give ANY info about a property, only info on the listing agents contact info.

They cannot discuss real estate matters... they can make appointments, they can take messages. In new construction offices they can hand out information, but not discuss it.

In our State of California, Kathleen, real estate activity can only be conducted by a licensee. The nature of discussions resulting from calls to potential buyers and sellers fall into the category, in my opinion.

They can take calls and answer basic office questions, but no real property nor real estate procedures talk and no outbound calls here as you know.

I've argued at length with someone who says it's legal in Georgia. However, when I called the commission that said even if they are calling someone who "inquired" on line it's still considered cold calling and NOT legal in Georgia.
if you scroll far enough down the page there is a list of what unlicensed support personnel can and cannot do.

I don't believe that unlicensed people are allowed to interact with consumers in the transaction of real estate services in any state.

In TN, an unlicensed person cannot make calls to solicit or conduct real estate activities.

Only to make appointments (e.g. for showings)or follow up on loan commitments, etc. Not for anything that might lead to answering real estate questions or negotiations. Those calls need to be transferred to a licenced agent.

Here is Arizona's take on it:

does not make it crystal clear....

No, because it might ultimately take on the discussion of real estate. Some people are going to say yes, watch.
If they do appointment times only --- which is a big if, then it's ok.
