Anonymously, hell no-we did it quite loudly, she had committed fraud. I wasn't even licensed when we did it, I when I was a TC back in 1998 for my mom and an agent faked the death of her clients (on paper) to cancel a contract a week before closing.

Never anonymously. Cross me, you'll know who turned you in. Had one mortgage broker/agent out here (and winner of the "most ethical" award by the mortgage broker association) claim he was the listing agent on one of my listings to a zillow lead. Even OUTRIGHT LIED about the house being occupied and the owners not wanting anyone over becasue of the holidays and family visiting... the house was VACANT. He even stood up the buyer once he saw the listing was by appointment only and listing agent accompany. Total piece of schmuck! I reported him to the state, which didn't do anything about it.

That's not allowed in NC - the licensed complaintant has to identify themselves and provided the necessary documentation to substantiate the complaint.

I don't believe we can do it without filing a complaint and signing it. I would have to check with ADRE regarding whether that remains. I do know that if we could file complaints against licensees without fear of retaliation, more complaints would be filed. Far more. On the other side of that however, more frivolous complaints would also be filed.

As far as I know, Florida has done away with anonymous complaints...it would be too easy to waste someones time.

I have not. I have reported violations to my board and I don't do it anonymously. I'm not sure you can report to the state board anonymously in NC.

I would think if someone did it anonymously , they probably wouldn't say they did online..
In my humble opinion , we are in an industry that must police themselves, and should report when you know of an issue...
( would you tell a store mgr that you saw someone steal somethng? would you call police if you knew who committed a hit and run, or took advantage of the elderly? )
When we turn the blind eye , we are allowing that to happen again and again.
Do what is right, not just what is easy.

Never have, primarily due to perceived lower level violations plus risk/reward. However, one of my investor daughters got rent stiffed by a MI Owner/Broker who was her lessee. The response from the MI authorities was that her complaint was not of the type they consider. Plus this guy is also a licensed mortgage broker. Ugh!

I have not. If I saw a major violation that affects the general public, I certainly would turn them in. I don't report people for mistakes or petty things.

Thank heavens I've never witnessed anything like that to report except for small things and then I call the agent directly. But if I did, it would also not be anonymous.
